We are seeking a Technical Program Manager II to join the Finance Data & Experiences (FD&E) organization and drive reporting modernization, process automation, and business transformation initiatives across Microsoft Finance.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end execution of complex programs that improve financial reporting, streamline business processes, and enable better business decisions through modern data and analytics solutions. You will partner closely with Finance, Engineering, Data Platform, and Business Operations teams to translate business requirements into scalable solutions, manage delivery, and drive successful adoption. The ideal candidate combines strong program management skills, business acumen, technical aptitude, and stakeholder management capabilities. You will lead cross-functional initiatives that simplify reporting experiences, improve operational efficiency, and support Microsoft's finance transformation journey through effective execution, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
Program Leadership
  • Lead medium-to-large scale reporting modernization, analytics, and business process improvement initiatives.
  • Drive end-to-end program execution from requirements gathering through implementation and adoption.
  • Develop project plans, manage dependencies, track milestones, and proactively mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate execution across Finance, Engineering, Data Platform, and Business Operations teams.
  • Ensure successful delivery of solutions that meet business objectives and user needs.

Business Transformation
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve reporting, reduce manual effort, and streamline operational processes.
  • Gather and translate business requirements into actionable program plans and technical solutions.
  • Support prioritization of investments and initiatives based on business impact and customer value.
  • Drive adoption and change management activities for new capabilities and solutions.

Data & Analytics Solutions
  • Support initiatives involving financial reporting, forecasting, planning, budgeting, headcount, and operational analytics.
  • Partner with engineering teams to deliver scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and trustworthiness of business-critical reporting assets.
  • Promote governance, operational excellence, and standard reporting practices.

Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong partnerships across Finance, Engineering, and Operations organizations.
  • Communicate program status, key milestones, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
  • Influence outcomes through collaboration and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Align partner teams on program goals, priorities, and delivery commitments.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for automation, AI, and process optimization.
  • Drive improvements that increase reporting efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Contribute to TPM best practices and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, Business, or a related field AND 2+ years of experience in technical program management, software engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, finance systems, or related disciplines.
  • 1+ Year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Reporting, or Business Operations functions.
  • Experience with Power BI, Fabric, SQL, Azure Data Platform, SAP, or enterprise reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience leading reporting modernization, analytics, or process automation initiatives.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled business solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
