Job Description:
Madison College is seeking a part-time Food Services Assistant to join our Dining Services team. This role involves preparing, cooking, and baking a variety of menu items while maintaining high standards.
Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, the Food Services Assistant supports operations by running serving stations, producing large-quantity meals, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and food safety guidelines.
The ideal candidate will deliver quality food production, provide exceptional customer service, and help create a welcoming atmosphere for students, employees and guests. Supports efficient meal service operations and upholding culinary excellence.
Schedule: This is a part time - three (3) - days a week, 25-hours per week position for 38 weeks during the Fall and Spring academic semesters, with a regular schedule of 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Accountabilities:
  • Operates serving stations by preparing and distributing food items to ensure a positive dining experience for students and guests.
  • Prepares large-quantity food items by following production standards and maintaining quality and consistency in meal service.
  • Performs cleaning tasks by maintaining sanitation standards, cleaning work areas and ensuring equipment and serving stations are properly maintained.
  • Provides customer service by assisting guests, addressing inquiries and ensuring a welcoming dining environment.
  • Contributes to an inclusive, equitable and supportive environment where everyone at the institution feels valued, respected and empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards.
  • Ability to perform cleaning tasks to maintain food service work areas, equipment and serving stations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced food service environment while ensuring accuracy and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to provide effective customer service and resolve concerns.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School or equivalent additional work experience
  • 0-2 years of relevant working experience
  • Ability to obtain a ServSafe Certification during the onboarding process
