Job Description:
Madison College is seeking a College Access Navigator to support prospective and returning students throughout the admissions, enrollment, financial aid, and college transition processes. This position serves as a primary point of contact for students and families, providing personalized guidance through multiple communication channels and helping students navigate placement testing, course placement, applications, enrollment requirements, and early college opportunities.
The College Access Navigator builds strong relationships with district high schools, school staff, community partners, and institutional stakeholders by maintaining a consistent presence in schools, leading campus and school-based tours, and participating in outreach events and marketing initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to identify barriers to college access, adapt services to meet diverse student needs, and develop strategies that increase applications, enrollment, and participation in college transition programs.
Position Details:
Schedule: This position offers a flexible Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional weekend coverage based on events and student needs. A hybrid work schedule, with one (1) to two (2) days per week in the office, however majority of working hours are spent supporting students at district high schools. The schedule is subject to change in accordance with Madison College policy.
Expected Progression: This position includes an expected progression plan. Upon meeting the outlined criteria, you will be eligible to receive a $1.00 per hour increase.

Accountabilities:
  • Proctors placement exams within high schools, interprets scores and provides guidance on course placement and next steps to support student enrollment.
  • Leads campus and school-based tours for prospective students, families and community groups to promote awareness of institutional programs and resources.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and returning students, providing guidance on admissions, enrollment and financial aid through various communication channels.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with district high schools, holding regular hours to support students in exploring college opportunities and navigating application and enrollment processes.
  • Supports high school students in dual-credit and other early college programs by facilitating enrollment, verifying eligibility and ensuring timely submission of required materials.
  • Collaborates with institutional and community stakeholders by participating in planning meetings, outreach events and marketing initiatives to expand student access and engagement.
  • Identifies gaps in outreach and develops strategies to increase applications, enrollment and student participation in college transition programs.
  • Assesses student and school needs, exercising independent judgment to adapt services, resolve issues and connect students with appropriate college resources and support services.
  • Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of college admissions, dual-credit programs, early college programs, enrollment processes and financial aid.
  • Knowledge of relevant software for the position to manage recruitment and enrollment related data.
  • Skill in building relationships with students, families and school staff.
  • Skill in adapting outreach and recruitment strategies based on student and school needs.
  • Ability to assess student needs and provide guidance on academic options, enrollment steps and available support services.
  • Ability to manage multiple processes, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skill in engaging positively with all populations and communities, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment.
  • Skill in effectively and respectfully communicating with others.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's degree AND equivalent relevant work experience.

Experience:
  • 0-2 years of relevant professional work experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English
