Senior Project Manager, Transportation, McAllen, TX | Corpus Christi, TX
Halff has an opening for a Senior Roadway Engineer, with a Texas PE License, to be a Senior Project Manager to join our growing Roadway / Transportation team based out of our McAllen or Corpus Christi, TX office. The ideal candidate would have at least 15 years of experience in roadway / transportation project development with emphasis in delivery of TxDOT projects. This role offers a great opportunity to Roadway / Transportation Engineers looking for advancement and professional growth while honing their skills in project management and oversight. What you will do:
  • This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing the design and construction of infrastructure projects for the Transportation practice.
  • This position requires strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with local entities.
  • Works closely with the Transportation Team Leader in the development and delivery of TxDOT roadway / transportation projects.
  • Performs complex transportation engineering tasks and leads other professional staff in the development of transportation projects.
  • Develops and manages project scope, personnel, budgets, schedules and collaborates with clients and stakeholders.
  • Manages multiple transportation tasks or projects in support of business needs.
  • Manages other consultant teams and the workload of design staff including Engineers, EIT's, and technical staff that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas roadways.
  • Reviews transportation deliverables for accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop a network of municipal clients and teaming partners.
  • Reports on project progress and budgets.
  • Works with the Transportation Team Leader and Operations Managers in business development activities.
  • Manage design and plan production as well as manage clients and supervise technical staff through workshare opportunities with various practices and offices at Halff.
  • This position shall value and be active in professional organizations that benefit the Transportation Industry.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas
  • At least 15 years of experience in TxDOT roadway / transportation project delivery
  • MicroStation CADD and OpenRoads experience required
  • Ability to lead a project, technical staff, and manage project schedules and budgets
  • Experience managing roadway design projects and plan production
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and decision-making skills
  • Commitment to quality
  • Positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player and a person of high character with a focus on quality, integrity and success
  • TxDOT experience (as a TxDOT employee or consultant) is desirable
  • Primavera (P6) Experience is desirable
