Job Description
Senior Technical Program Manager - Cross-Domain Software & Systems
About the Role
We are seeking a versatile, technically strong Technical Program Manager who thrives in environments where software, hardware, and systems come together. This role is a backfill for an automotive-focused PM, but the future scope is broader: you'll lead projects spanning embedded software for automotive and consumer electronics, mobile applications, cloud services, and connected product ecosystems.
You will partner with globally distributed engineering teams-firmware, embedded, mobile, cloud, systems, UX-as well as cross-functional groups across product, hardware, quality, and external development partners. Your mission is to drive clarity, alignment, and delivery across complex, multi-disciplinary programs.
This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to shape development processes, influence technical direction, and deliver next-generation experiences across multiple product categories.
What You'll Do
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of software and system-level features across embedded, mobile, cloud, and hybrid product architectures.
  • Coordinate and synchronize across multiple engineering teams to design, build, integrate, test, and release high-quality software on schedule.
  • Manage interdependencies across disciplines, identifying requirements, architectural convergence points, and cross-team risks early.
  • Drive work planning and release planning, ensuring teams have clear objectives, well-defined milestones, and the resources needed to succeed.
  • Identify and manage technical and program risks, escalating when necessary and driving mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with product management to align engineering execution with product roadmaps and long-term strategic priorities.
  • Work with hardware, firmware, and software leaders to create robust delivery plans, including schedules, resource needs, tooling, and external dependencies.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, technical SMEs, external suppliers, and development partners.
  • Continuously improve processes, reducing ambiguity, eliminating bottlenecks, and helping teams make smart trade-offs.
  • Champion cross-functional integration, ensuring embedded, mobile, cloud, and UX components come together seamlessly.

About You
  • You're a systems thinker who understands how embedded, mobile, cloud, and hardware components interact.
  • You're comfortable shifting between automotive-grade rigor and consumer-electronics speed, depending on the project.
  • You have the technical depth to engage with engineers and the communication skills to align diverse stakeholders.
  • You're resilient, adaptable, and energized by solving complex cross-disciplinary problems.
  • You build trust quickly and lead with clarity, empathy, and accountability.

Required Experience
  • 8+ years of project or program management experience in a software-centric engineering environment.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary technical teams across software and hardware domains.
  • Experience delivering software in one or more of the following areas:
    • Embedded systems / firmware
    • Automotive or regulated environments
    • Consumer electronics
    • Mobile applications
    • Cloud services or connected ecosystems
  • Strong organizational, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with external suppliers, technology partners, or offshore development teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments.
  • Prior hands-on software development or test experience (C, C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar) is a plus.
  • Automotive experience is beneficial but not required-ability to span domains is essential.
  • Scrum Master or SAFe certification is a plus.
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; advanced degrees welcome.

Why This Role Matters
You'll be the connective tissue across teams, technologies, and product lines. If you love orchestrating complex technical programs, influencing engineering outcomes, and delivering exceptional user experiences across multiple domains, this role gives you the runway to make a meaningful impact.
