Supervisor Job Description

Responsibilities & Role

  • Duties
    • Responsible for monthly Quality Checks (inspections) of assigned facilities
      • Taking photographs and reporting through JM app
    • Assist the Regional Manager with training and coverages of assigned facilities
  • Properties
    • Inspect Assigned Properties
      • Report to and complete inspections under direction of the Regional Manager
        • Take photos (good performance pictures & areas that need attention)
        • Submit Quality Check via JM app upon inspection
        • Field any cleaning issues, problem-solve, and correct immediately, if possible while inspecting
      • Communicate with janitorial staff when doing well or if improvements are needed based on your report and under the direction of the Regional Manager
  • Janitorial Staff
    • Ensure the training of any new hire is completed under the direction of the Regional Manager
    • Assist the Regional Manager retraining current staff
    • Fill in for cleaning staff time off requests or call-offs
  • Supplies & Equipment
    • Manage and maintain supplies and equipment at each facility (vacuums, vacuum bags, mop buckets, mops, carts, storage areas/shelving, towels, cleaning products, etc.)
    • Stock locations when performing inspections under the direction of the Regional Manager
    • Communicate when additional or special supplies are needed to the Regional Manager
  • Expansion
    • Current Properties
      • Discuss and recommend additional services (strip/wax, autoscrub, carpet cleaning, window services, deep cleaning, additional areas to be cleaned, etc.) to the Regional Manager & they will discuss with the clients

Skills/Requirements

  • General Requirements
    • High school diploma
    • At least 2 years of commercial cleaning experience
    • Completion of our Janitorial Supervisor Training Program through TJS
    • Ongoing janitorial certification and specialty training
  • Preferences
    • Associate's Degree
    • At least 1 year of management experience leading a team, training, and supervising
    • Janitorial training certifications
  • Skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Confident, self-motivated, takes initiative, positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, organized/productive, manages time well, desires to learn, able to problem solve, walks with integrity and honesty, and trustworthy
    • Has technical knowledge of chemicals, equipment, and commercial cleaning duties
    • Leadership skills, exemplifying servant leadership

Schedule

  • Agreed upon with the Regional Manager based on best times to inspect assigned properties
  • Must have open availability Monday - Sunday and be on call as needed
  • Part time afternoon/evening hours

Compensation & Benefits

  • $15 or $20 per inspecting depending on size of facility
  • $15 per hour for training new hires or retraining current hires
  • Travel time will be paid $15 / hour for direct routes to and from inspections
  • If full-time, after 30 days: Dental insurance, vision insurance, & SIMPLE IRA 3% match
  • If full-time, PTO days per employee handbook
