Job description

Supervisor:                Executive Director

JOB SUMMARY:  The Program Manager (PM) of the Maui Safe House Program is a full time, exempt position.  The program provides a structured long term residential services for adolescent male residents.  The program also collaborates with other agencies and resources within its community.  Services and activities are developed to support the specific needs of the youths in placement at the Safe House program.  The PM is responsible for the overall management of the Maui Safe House program.  Through the essential functions described in this Job Description, the PM maintains the program’s contractual and licensing requirements, and facility standards.  The PM is also responsible to recruit, train, develop and supervise staff members of the program, and will work with its employees to ensure the safety of residents in the program, and that resident’s service goals are met. The PM is supervised by the Executive Director. 

 

 

  1. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  2. BA degree in human services or related field with five years experience in providing residential services.
  3. Two years experience in personnel management and proposal or grant writing.
  4. Valid TB clearance and physical exam.
  5. Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  6. Valid Hawaii Driver’s license and valid no-fault insurance.
  7. Successful background clearances including FBI & Hawaii State Criminal; DHS Child Abuse neglect; Motor vehicle records.
  1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  2. Overall management of the Safe House residential services.
  3. Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and manages multiple contracts and program sites for the implementation of residential services which include youth activity, programs with school personnel, community, other youth service agencies and agency workers.
  4. Direct supervision of all residential staff in the performance of their duties and work schedules.
  5. Manage all contracts to meet requirements including meeting outcomes as required by the various funding sources.
  6. Overall case supervision of clients served. Ensuring youth treatment plans are continually reviewed and goals/objectives me on a timely manner.
  7. Orientate/train/evaluate program and volunteer staff in residential program activities and curriculum.
  8. Develop operational procedures for the residential programs in accordance with contract requirements.
  9. Provide monthly and quarterly reports to the Executive Director and funding agencies regarding clients served and services provided.
  10. Assist the administration in presenting the program to the community and to maintain productive relationships with all client related agencies, community resources and programs, schools and similar entities.
  11. Evaluate staff development requirements and arrange for training as needed.
  12. Performs the duties of the Residential staff during their absence or when work requirements indicate such involvement.
  13. Prepare funding proposals as assigned or indicated.
  14. Attend all staff meetings, training, conferences and workshops as requested or scheduled.
  15. Travel off-island as necessary.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Most work will be indoors at Family Intervention Services.  Attendance at trainings, both in Hawaii and on the mainland, may be required.
