Summary
The Model Development team is responsible for delivering and maintaining cloud-based platforms that support traditional model development and emerging AI/ML capabilities across critical systems. This includes ownership of AWS SageMaker, exploration and enablement of Small Language Model (SLM) development, and continued evolution of internally developed capabilities such as the Enhanced Learning and Support Agent (ELSA), designed to scale AI platforms and reduce support costs.
This role serves as the IT Delivery Manager for the team and is accountable for driving the continued development, delivery, and adoption of these capabilities. As a shared service supporting multiple lines of business, this leader will ensure delivery is well-planned, transparent, and predictable, while fostering strong collaboration across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers and contractors (onshore and offshore), providing coaching, performance management, and career development
  • Own delivery of technology initiatives, ensuring work is clearly defined, planned, and executed against established timelines

  • Maintain delivery discipline through structured planning, tracking, and reporting (e.g., JIRA or similar tools)
  • Provide clear updates to stakeholders and leadership on delivery progress, timelines, and risks
  • Partner with business, product, and technology teams to align on priorities and ensure successful execution
  • Identify and address risks, blockers, and dependencies, driving continuous improvement in delivery processes
  • Monitor delivery performance and ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Support operational planning, including staffing, resourcing, and budget considerations
  • Ensure adherence to technology, risk, and security standards

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in IT delivery, engineering management, or program delivery roles
  • Proven people management experience leading engineering or technical teams (required)

    • Communicating delivery status to senior leadership
  • Experience working with Agile delivery teams and tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with AI/ML platforms (e.g., SageMaker or similar)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering solutions on cloud platforms (primarily AWS; Azure exposure a plus)
