Responsibilities

SPA is seeking a Technical Product Manager to drive product strategy, roadmap development, and mission focused technical engagement for our platform as a service solution supporting software delivery for Space Systems Command. This role serves as one of four primary liaisons between various mission stakeholders and platform engineering, ensuring platform capabilities align with customer priorities while advancing the long-term platform vision. As a Technical Product Manager, you will work directly with mission teams to understand operational challenges, identify opportunities for platform innovation, and translate customer needs into prioritized product capabilities. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead mission-focused technical engagement with stakeholders to understand operational challenges, gather product requirements, and identify opportunities for new platform capabilities.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate a prioritized product roadmap that balances mission value, engineering effort, technical debt, security, and operational sustainability.
  • Define product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics that enable engineering teams to deliver high-quality platform capabilities.
  • Partner with platform engineers, software engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and mission stakeholders to evaluate solution alternatives, technical tradeoffs, and implementation approaches.
  • Facilitate product planning, backlog refinement, release planning, and feature prioritization to ensure engineering efforts align with mission objectives.
  • Analyze customer feedback, operational metrics, and platform usage data to continuously improve the developer experience and platform capabilities.
  • Identify recurring customer needs and translate common requirements into scalable platform services that benefit multiple mission teams.
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap priorities, feature status, and release plans to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure delivered capabilities satisfy customer expectations, support platform engineering standards, and contribute to long-term platform evolution.
  • Build trusted relationships across engineering teams and mission stakeholders through technical credibility, transparency, and effective communication.
  • Continuously evaluate industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities that improve platform capabilities and mission outcomes.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Improve customer satisfaction by translating operational needs into well-defined, high-value engineering initiatives.
  • Increase engineering effectiveness through clear product requirements, prioritized backlogs, and transparent roadmap management.
  • Strengthen collaboration and trust between mission stakeholders and platform engineering through consistent, mission focused technical engagement.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the platform by balancing customer needs, engineering priorities, operational performance, and strategic platform investments.

This is a fully remote/hybrid position.
