Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Veteran Outreach Managerto join our Talent Acquisition team.

This position is open to the following locations: Mobile, Alabama or Kinston, NC.

The Veteran Outreach Manager will manage and execute initiatives to source, recruit, and support transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses, with the primary objective of creating and managing sustainable talent pipelines. This role will serve as a key point of contact for military transition programs, including DoD SkillBridge, and will coordinate efforts at military job fairs and career events. The Manager will be the designated company representative for select military base offices which support the transition of military members to civilian employment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of military culture and transition processes and a proven ability to build partnerships with military installations and veteran organizations.

Your Working Environment:

On 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your Challenges:

Military WFD Strategy Leadership:

  • Work with the Director of WFD to design and lead theimplementation of military and veteran talent strategies to enableregional growth, grow service member and veteran talent pipelines,and drive alignment with business objectives and long-termworkforce planning needs.

  • Oversee the lifecycle of military and veteran-focused programs(including SkillBridge, mentorship, and veteran internship programs)from concept development to execution and performance review.

  • Lead the identification and development of Military Outreachinitiatives in new regions and sites, including the establishment ofnew military base partnerships and talent pipeline strategies.

  • Work closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, Employee ResourceGroups, and Business Leadership teams to ensure military talent programs align with overall business goals, growth projections, andregional expansion efforts.

Strategic Partnership Development:

  • Develop and expand military talent and transition programs (e.g.,DoD SkillBridge) and partnerships across U.S. sites, focusing on building robust career pathways for service members that supportcritical roles, including technical, skilled trades, and leadershippositions.

  • Partner with the HR and Business leaders across North America toadvise on best practices for military and veteran talent acquisitionand retention, ensuring programs align with regional needs.

  • Build and strengthen relationships with key military and veteranchannels, including military transition offices, veteran serviceorganizations (VSOs), base education centers, and militarycredentialing programs.

  • Direct, guide, and manage a network of local and regionalassociates who provide coordination and support for militaryrecruitment and veteran-affiliated programs.

Veteran Talent Pipeline Development

  • Lead community outreach efforts within the military ecosystem (e.g.,base events, family support groups) to promote career pathways andinspire future veteran talent into technical and professional careersat Airbus.

  • Create and manage military talent pipelines at all levels-fromSkillBridge internships and entry-level roles through to experiencedprofessionals and leadership positions.

  • Represent the company at military job fairs, transition summits, andcareer expos across the US Region.

  • Coordinate logistics and staffing for recruiting events targetingmilitary talent.

Program Management:

  • Analyze military hiring data, veteran retention trends, and program outcomes (e.g., SkillBridge completion rates) to identify skills gapsand future talent needs, utilizing insights to inform programdevelopment and drive continuous improvement.

  • Ensure all military and veteran talent programs, particularly the DoDSkillBridge Program, comply with all applicable Department ofDefense guidelines and veteran employment laws and regulations inNorth America.

  • Act as the primary liaison for the DoD SkillBridge Program, ensuringcompliance with Department of Defense guidelines.

  • Develop internal processes for onboarding SkillBridge candidatesand tracking their progress.

  • Other duties as assigned

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related degree or combinationof education and appropriate military experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in military engagement, or veteran affairs.

  • Experience in Aerospace preferred.

  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM certifications

  • Pushing / Pulling: Several times a week able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
