Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring a Technical Operator for a specialty chemicals manufacturing plant in Sealy, TX. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $19-$22/hr. In this role, you will operate and monitor mixing and packaging equipment to produce chemical products according to standard operating procedures. This is a long-term placement with a globally recognized specialty chemicals manufacturer.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor mixing equipment to blend chemical products per SOPs, using PLCs, flowmeters, and pressure gauges to maintain validated process parameters.
  • Document mixing processes with a high level of accuracy, including order of addition, mixing times, and designated set points.
  • Operate packaging equipment and perform line changeovers and simple-to-moderate equipment adjustments.
  • Inspect finished packaged products to verify weight tolerances, appearance, DOT labeling, and batch identification numbers meet quality standards.
  • Count and verify inventory of raw materials and packaging materials against the daily production schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety policies and industrial housekeeping standards.

Minimum Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience operating equipment in a chemical, manufacturing, or industrial production environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)-controlled equipment.
  • Familiarity with flowmeters, pressure gauges, and manual valve operation.
  • Experience performing line changeovers or basic mechanical troubleshooting on production equipment.
  • Background in specialty chemicals, coatings, adhesives, sealants, or similar process chemistry environments.
  • Experience with DOT labeling requirements or quality inspection in a regulated manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to accurately document production records, batch logs, or quality data.
