Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Technical Systems Operator is part of a work team to provide technology support for a designated school. The major focus of work involves hardware and software installation, technology troubleshooting, and problem resolution for workstation-level equipment including, but not limited to, computers, printers, peripherals, and audio-visual equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide technical support to students & staff for workstation and network application issues;
  • Provide technical support for network and workstation hardware and software;
  • Provide Level I front line support to assigned school building. May include, but is not limited to: taking directions from technology services, equipment set up, equipment tear down, printer troubleshooting, image ghosting, software installation, hardware installation, etc.;
  • Create work orders for Level II support and track issues to resolution;
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all computer equipment;
  • Assist in the development of the assigned school building's technology supply budget and administer it throughout year;
  • Perform other work as required.

WORK SCHEDULE: 11M -7.25 Hrs.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Administrator
PAYGRADE: 10
SALARY SCALE: Uniform

Constant use of computers, monitors, keyboards, and mice; working with other equipment such as laser printers, handhelds, audio-visual equipment etc.; handling small fragile electronic components; moving and installing heavy equipment such as computers, monitors, printers, etc. which can weigh as much as 100 pounds; frequent use of telephones; frequent contact with internal and external staff; occasional need to perform urgent tasks to meet organizational deadlines.
