Position Summary:

The Technical Operations Consultant III is responsible for leading moderately complex warehouse process improvement efforts by analyzing, mapping, and optimizing operations within SAP WM and EWM environments. This role owns workstream-level deliverables, conducts detailed process assessments, and develops data-driven recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. The consultant facilitates client workshops, translates business requirements into actionable SOPs, and supports the implementation of sustainable process improvements. Working with minimal oversight, this role exercises sound judgment, anticipates operational challenges, and contributes to solution design while informally mentoring junior team members. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, client-facing effectiveness, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives within dynamic warehouse environments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Leads workstream-level process assessments and translates findings into improvement recommendations and implementation steps.
  • Collaborates with supply chain staff and floor leaders to understand specific operational challenges and requirements.
  • Facilitates operator/floor-leader workshops; captures decisions and converts outcomes into actionable SOP updates.
  • Develops comprehensive end-to-end process maps (current/future state) and identifies root causes of bottlenecks and error drivers.
  • Produces SOPs and supporting job aids; partners with training teams to enable adoption.
  • Tracks performance metrics and supports periodic audits to ensure SOP compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Provides informal coaching and QA review of junior consultants' process documentation and SOP drafts.
  • Proposes continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain operations and participate in implementation.
  • Ensures SOPs are aligned with best practices and industry standards.
  • Travels to client sites up to 50% annually to collaborate in person, evaluate operations, and review SOPs and practices in action.
  • Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, which includes actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.

Qualifications and Motor/Sensory/Physical Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience; or no degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience owning deliverables and solving moderately complex problems.
  • Demonstrated experience creating/updating SOPs and supporting implementation in warehouse settings.
  • Working SAP WM/EWM proficiency (configuration familiarity or functional understanding sufficient to map processes accurately).
  • Experience/Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (which requires U.S. citizenship).
  • Strong facilitation; can translate operational/technical concepts into clear, usable SOP language.
  • Sound judgment; anticipates issues and proposes practical solutions.

Nice to Have:

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green Belt preferred) or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with government customers (DLA or DoW preferred).

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $100,000 – $125,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
