How You'll Make an Impact

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation providing maintenance/mechanical engineering technical expertise to plant Operations and Maintenance personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, getting equipment in functional condition and providing input to facility and equipment strategies. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Technologist so that the jobs have both technical and field experience during troubleshooting, procedures, repair plans, etc.
  • Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluate whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.
  • For equipment that is critical for the process, you'll ensure that work requests include engineering input on repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, welding procedures, etc.
  • Provide onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data if necessary.
  • Ensure repairs, repair techniques, and equipment-specific training are made available and documented.
  • Provide technical support for specification, identification, and purchasing of required parts.
  • Provide maintainability input into Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategy.
  • Support the PPM coordinator as required in reviewing spare parts list for existing equipment.
  • Support Operations in the development of operating procedures (i.e. proper steps for starting / stopping a pump, etc.).
  • Review operations logbook for any unusual activity that they may need to support.
  • Participate with Reliability Engineer in developing facility and equipment maintenance strategies.
  • As required, provide engineering input to the Planners job plans and job packages to ensure standards are followed.
  • Receive and review History Feedback form Crafts when unusual findings are noted.
  • Serve as a technical resource to the planner and crafts as needed.
  • During development of turnaround work, provides input on development of work orders particularly on critical equipment requiring Engineering review or input.
  • Write and support the development of maintenance procedures.
  • Work with the Maintenance Technologist on following jobs internally and externally to ensure quality repairs.
  • Support the Maintenance Technologist in training Crafts, Operations, etc.

Required Qualifications that Enables Your Success  

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university. 
  • 3+ years of Maintenance Engineering experience in a chemical processing/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP within the Maintenance Department. 

Preferred Qualifications that Drives you Forward 

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
