Join 66 Hardware Company, a proud group of growing Ace Hardware Co-ops with 5 stores in North Texas and 2 stores in Oklahoma, where we combine the strength of a large brand with the personal touch of a local business. As a talented Small Engine Technician, you'll enjoy a flexible schedule, paid training, and employee discounts while working in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. This role offers you the chance to enhance your technical skills and build meaningful customer relationships every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, and repair power equipment with precision and care
  • Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs
  • Test and diagnose engine malfunctions and repair or replace defective parts
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and warranties
  • Order and manage replacement parts inventory efficiently

Customer Service Excellence

  • Provide a positive and professional representation of the store
  • Assist customers proactively and solve problems with a friendly demeanor
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints courteously and effectively
  • Share your expert knowledge of products and store layout

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Ensure a safe, professional, and supportive workplace for all associates
  • Perform physical tasks including bending, standing, lifting up to 60 lbs, and operating equipment
  • Work on-site with a schedule that includes day shifts, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours

Qualifications & Benefits

  • Previous small engine repair experience or completed coursework preferred
  • STIHL certification preferred or completion of the certification after one year of employment.
