Job Description

Senior Technical Program Manager, Simulation

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We're turning today's impossible into tomorrow's standard - from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

The Role

As a Senior Technical Program Manager for Simulation, you will lead test creation strategy and execution for GM's enterprise Autonomous Driving Program.

In this role, you will help build and scale simulation-based test products that enable rapid development of our AV stack and validate readiness for real-world deployment. Work spans architecture, safety requirements, model development, data labeling, and continuous iteration, all in close partnership with engineering, product, and operations. This is a highly visible opportunity to shape how simulation accelerates autonomy at enterprise scale.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve the roadmap for simulation test creation across key AV driving behaviors, balancing immediate delivery with long-term scalability

  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations to translate real-world driving scenarios into high-quality simulation tests

  • Define and monitor KPIs, program metrics, and validation milestones to ensure confidence in simulation outputs and ML performance

  • Identify risks early across software, data, and operations, and drive clear mitigation plans

  • Lead program reviews and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Improve how simulation tests are created, labeled, and validated to increase speed, quality, and repeatability

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, systems engineering, or a related role, with exposure to AI/ML, robotics, or complex software systems

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

  • Experience working across cross-functional programs involving software, data, and/or hardware

  • Strong project management fundamentals, including planning, prioritization, and execution tracking

  • Clear, effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across engineering, partners, and customers

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions and improve outcomes

  • Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence

What will give you a competitive edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Exposure to vendor or partner management, particularly in data or test-related workflows, is a plus

  • Exposure to autonomous vehicles, robotics, or simulation-based development (industry, academic, or internship experience)

  • Background in automotive, aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical environments

  • Familiarity with test strategy, validation processes, or simulation tooling

  • Experience improving processes or helping scale programs as complexity grows
