Job description

ZimZee Recruiting is looking for a Program Engineer to serve as the primary technical liaison between customers, sales account managers, and engineering teams. This role is responsible for supporting new product development, product qualification, certification efforts, and aftermarket programs for aviation products including cockpit avionics, power conversion equipment, and battery systems. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering knowledge with exceptional project management, communication, and customer-facing skills to successfully drive programs from proposal through execution.


Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience within the aviation or aerospace industry
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Strong program and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with electrical and electromechanical systems or products
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into customer deliverables
  • Preferred: Knowledge of aviation certification processes (Type Certificates and Supplemental Type Certificates) and industry standards such as RTCA/DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical interface between engineering, sales account managers, and customers throughout the lifecycle of assigned programs
  • Lead technical aspects of customer programs, ensuring project objectives are achieved within schedule, cost, and performance targets
  • Develop, collect, consolidate, and communicate technical documentation and deliverables to satisfy customer requirements
  • Support new business opportunities by reviewing proposal requirements, evaluating technical compliance, and collaborating with internal teams during the proposal process
  • Coordinate closely with engineering project managers and cross-functional teams to monitor project progress and communicate status updates to customers and sales teams
  • Provide product-level technical expertise on features, capabilities, qualifications, and certification requirements for aviation products
