Job description

GXM is seeking a Technical Engineering Advisor to join our team to support advanced defense and space-related mission programs focused on Command and Control (C2), mission systems integration, cybersecurity, and enterprise modernization initiatives.
The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted cybersecurity and accreditation advisor to Government stakeholders, providing expertise in Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, continuous authorization strategies, security governance, and secure operational capability delivery. This individual will work closely with cybersecurity personnel, engineers, architects, mission partners, and Government leadership to support security compliance, authorization activities, and deployment of mission capabilities within classified and operational environments.
This role requires expertise in cybersecurity governance, accreditation processes, secure system integration, and operational security requirements supporting mission-critical defense and space programs.
This role is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO. Hybrid flexibility may be available over time based on mission requirements, program execution needs, and achievement of objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advisory support to Government stakeholders on cybersecurity, accreditation, and security governance activities supporting mission systems and operational environments as this relates to other awarded contractor/vendor solutioning within the overall program.
  • Support implementation and maturation of Continuous Authorization to Operate (cATO) processes and strategies across mission capabilities and technology platforms.
  • Advise on SCIF compliance requirements, classified environment operations, and secure deployment activities.
  • Serve as a cybersecurity subject matter advisor supporting security architecture reviews, technical assessments, and operational risk evaluations.
  • Coordinate security governance activities among program leadership, cybersecurity teams, Authorizing Officials (AOs), and mission stakeholders.
  • Support oversight of cybersecurity implementation activities to ensure alignment with security requirements, operational needs, and compliance objectives.
  • Validate compliance with RMF requirements, cybersecurity controls, security policies, and accreditation artifacts.
  • Monitor RMF activities and support execution of authorization packages, assessments, risk documentation, and continuous monitoring efforts.
  • Support integration of multi-level security architectures and secure information-sharing capabilities across mission environments.
  • Advise on extension and scaling of secure architectures supporting Space Force mission environments and follow-on operational deployments.
  • Support development of cybersecurity strategies that enable secure capability scaling across multiple Combatant Command (CCMD) and operational mission environments.
  • Prepare technical assessments, risk summaries, compliance evaluations, and recommendation packages for Government and program leadership.

Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting cybersecurity, accreditation, RMF, or security engineering activities within defense, intelligence, or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience supporting RMF implementation, authorization activities, continuous monitoring, and cybersecurity compliance efforts.
  • Experience coordinating with Authorizing Officials (AOs), cybersecurity stakeholders, and Government security organizations.
  • Familiarity with cATO principles, DevSecOps security practices, and modern authorization approaches.
  • Experience supporting classified systems, secure operational environments, and SCIF-related requirements.
  • Knowledge of NIST frameworks, RMF, DISA STIGs, Zero Trust principles, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
  • Strong analytical, coordination, communication, and technical briefing skills.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting defense, space, intelligence, or multi-domain operational environments.
  • Familiarity with Command and Control (C2) systems, mission systems, or operational mission environments.
  • Experience supporting cATO initiatives, enterprise cybersecurity modernization, or large-scale authorization efforts.
  • CISSP, CAP, Security+, GSLC, or equivalent cybersecurity certification preferred.

$125,000-$185,000 salary + annual bonus eligibility + medical/dental/vision/STD/LTD/Life + 401(k) + PTO
