The Azure Architect serves as a strategic technical leader for Go West IT clients, shaping and guiding the design, delivery, and optimization of secure, scalable cloud solutions. Working closely with internal teams and client stakeholders, the Azure Architect leads advanced Azure and hybrid cloud initiatives-including architectural design, modernization, migrations, and integration-while also providing expert support for complex Azure infrastructure and networking challenges.
Reporting to a Managing Engineer, they apply deep cloud architecture expertise, structured planning, and proactive problem-solving to ensure successful outcomes across cloud environments. The Azure Architect champions best practices, drives innovation, and delivers consultative guidance that enables clients to realize the full value of Microsoft Azure and modern cloud capabilities.

What you will be doing:
  • Daily interaction with multiple clients to troubleshoot, plan, and implement IT solutions
  • Acting as a primary engineer for multiple clients, learning their environment, leading projects, and taking high level escalations
  • Advanced escalation triage and ticket management for optimal SLA delivery
  • Mentorship, guidance, and collaboration with your colleagues
  • Scoping and leadership of projects
  • Submission of timely, thorough, and accurate billable labor entries for invoicing
  • Opportunities to be involved with and support ongoing customer projects
  • Identity & Access Management
  • Design Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) strategies: Conditional Access, hybrid identity, RBAC, Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
  • Implementing Zero Trust principles across workloads
  • Data & Storage Solutions
  • Design storage strategies using Blob, Files, Disks, and database services like Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, ensuring redundancy, encryption, and compliance
  • Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
  • Create BCDR plans: Azure Backup, Site Recovery, georedundancy, and SLA-aligned failover strategies
  • Security & Monitoring
  • Integrate Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, and managed identities for security posture
  • Implement observability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
  • Other duties as assigned by the Managing Engineer

Qualifications we require from you:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in equivalent IT Engineer level role
  • Active AZ-104 Certification
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred skills from you:
  • Proficiency in the following:
  • Azure Active Directory, Intune configuration and design
  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Exchange, Azure Resources, AVD, and Teams Design
  • Security (i.e. Microsoft Purview)
  • Consulting/Customer Communication/Project Leadership
  • Encouraged, but not required:
  • AZ-305, AZ-140, AZ-500, SC-100 Certifications
