Job description

Job Summary:

TSM will be primarily responsible for developing and growing the markets for the sensory components, such as savory flavors, natural color,in addition to our full line of functional ingredientsin the North American food industry. The primary categories of focus include, butarenot limited toprepared foods, soups, sauces, meat, meat analogues, dairy and dairy analogues. This is not a lab position.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Work with Brenntag's strategic producer partners to learn their productportfolio, and understand the key technical attributes as it relates to their applications in food products

  • Work with product and category managers, to identify and strategize entry into the potential target accountsin the geographies assigned

  • Visit the accounts with the sales team weekly, and engage with customer's R&D to define customer's needs at the technical level

  • Engage with producer partners and suggest best solutions to the customer

  • Engage with the application team to accelerate customer projects,asneeded

  • Follow up with the customersto ensure successfulcommercialization of the products in scope

  • Attend product trainings and extend training to the field account managers in their assigned regions as necessary

Other Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all functions of business with safety as the top priority

  • Work with Management on organizational priorities, goals, and objectives

  • Participate in all periodic team meetings and communicates activities for

action/follow-up/execution as necessary

  • Attend internal and external training sessions for continued development of product and industry knowledge

Additional Required Skills/Abilities:

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS or MSin food science, nutrition, chemistry or life science

  • Min 10 years' experience infoodproduct developmentandortechnical sales

  • Sales and ingredient distribution experience preferred

  • Understanding of unit operations and unit processesintarget industries.

  • Extensivehands-onexperience with the application of flavors and colors in a variety of food products

Additional essential attributes

  • Well versed with currentmarkettrends and key players in the food industry

  • Aware of the regulatory landscape as it related to food products in North America

  • Deep understanding offunctionalingredient distribution in the food industry

Computer Skills:

  • Functional knowledge of word processors, database software, sales tools, spreadsheets, presentation modules

Travel:

  • Requires up to 50% regionaltravel, as needed

  • Flexible to work from home or office, as required
