Job description

Are you ready to be part of the future of healthcare. Can you think big, be bold, and harness the power of digital and AI to tackle longstanding life sciences challenges. Then Evinova, a health tech business part of the AstraZeneca Group, might be for you.

We are building software that transforms clinical trials for billions of patients worldwide. Evinova delivers market-leading digital health solutions that are science-based, evidence-led, and dedicated to human experience. We combine deep scientific expertise with modern software engineering and artificial intelligence to create new standards across the sector.

We're looking for a Delivery Manager who leads from the front and brings genuine technical depth to the role. You understand how software is architected, built, and integrated well enough to break down technical work, sequence it, and manage technical dependencies between teams yourself, not just relay them. You use every tool available, including AI, to drive clarity and outcomes, and you hold the bar high in everything you touch.

About the Role: This role sits at the heart of Evinova's Product and Technology organization. You will own the end-to-end delivery of our most critical and complex products and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered with the highest quality into highly regulated environments. You are accountable to the Delivery Director and partner directly with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to make ambiguous, high-stakes technical work happen.

This is not a project coordination role, and it is not a role for someone who manages engineering work from the outside. We are looking for a technically fluent delivery leader who can sit in an architecture or design review and follow it, understand the systems, services, APIs, and data flows behind our products, and reason about the technical dependencies and trade-offs that determine whether a plan will hold. You identify the real blockers, not just the reported ones, map and manage cross-team technical dependencies, challenge plans and estimates that do not stand up to scrutiny, and drive a clear path forward.

You will use AI tools as a core part of how you work to accelerate your own output, surface insights from delivery and engineering data, and help your teams operate at a higher cadence. What You Will Own: Technical Delivery and Dependency Management Break complex, cross-team initiatives down into a technically coherent plan of work, understanding the architecture, services, integrations, and data flows well enough to sequence delivery correctly. Own the identification, mapping, and active management of dependencies across engineering teams, platforms, and external partners, driving them to resolution rather than logging them.

Engage directly in architecture, design, and technical planning discussions, follow the detail, ask informed questions, and pressure-test engineering estimates, sequencing, and trade-offs. Anticipate integration, environment, and release risks including APIs, shared services, data migrations, and CI/CD constraints before they surface, and coordinate the technical work needed to de-risk them. Translate fluently between engineering realities and product and business outcomes so leadership can make informed decisions with a true picture of technical feasibility and risk.

Initiative Leadership and Delivery Own the delivery of Evinova's most complex multi-functional initiatives, from framing through execution to value realization. Identify dependencies, risks, and blockers early and drive them to resolution, not just track them. Lead initiative governance by defining the right cadences, the right metrics, and the right customers in the room.

Maintain integrated delivery plans that reflect reality, not just aspiration, grounded in an accurate understanding of the underlying technical work. Manage resources and delivery plans with full accountability to the Delivery Director and Head of Delivery Excellence. Ensure Evinova's products are delivered with high quality and in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.

AI-Native Delivery Management Use AI tools such as Claude, GPT, Devin, Copilot, or similar as a daily part of your workflow for generating status summaries, analyzing delivery and engineering data, drafting customer communications, and identifying patterns across initiatives. Build and champion AI-assisted delivery practices across your team, automating routine reporting, surfacing technical risks earlier, and freeing the team to focus on what requires genuine judgment. Apply rigorous critical thinking to AI-generated output.

You are accountable for the accuracy and clarity of everything you communicate, regardless of how it was produced. Know the latest with advances in AI-assisted work management and translate those into practical, team-level improvements. Coordinating and guiding project groups Drive continuous planning in collaboration with Product and Engineering leadership.

Maintain a single, unified picture of the portfolio, where things stand, where they are heading, and what decisions are needed from leadership. Use data-driven metrics and performance monitoring to track delivery maturity and align outcomes with product and business value. Bring financial accountability to delivery by tracking budgets, flagging variances, and helping leadership make informed resourcing decisions.

Multi-functional Leadership Partner with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Design Leads, and Customer Implementation Leads to align on what "done" looks like and hold the organization accountable to it. Negotiate the occasionally unaligned needs of Development and Customer Implementation teams in a professional manner that results in positive outcomes for Evinova. Navigate organizational and technical complexity with confidence, building trusted relationships across engineering and product teams and levels without relying on authority alone.

Represent delivery in leadership forums with clarity, candor, and perspective. Work collaboratively in a multi-functional setting with internal and external partners, including global teams. Delivery Culture and Continuous Improvement Model a culture where delivery excellence is an expectation, not an exception.

Lead retrospectives and drive systemic improvements, not just one-off fixes. Help teams distinguish between the noise of day-to-day activity and the signal of what is actually impeding delivery. Challenge the status quo, take ownership, and hold yourself and others accountable to outcomes over activity.

What This Role Is Not A coordination function that raises issues but does not resolve them. A status report factory. AI handles the routine; you provide the judgment.

A role for someone who manages from a distance or treats the technical work as a black box. If you cannot engage with the architecture and dependencies yourself, this is not the right fit. A checkbox exercise in delivery process.

We want someone who builds the muscle, not just follows the framework. A role where AI adoption is optional. We need someone eager to apply AI tools to automate repetitive workflow, apply them organizationally, and train others.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a technical or engineering field; advanced degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in program or delivery management, with a proven track record delivering complex, multi-team software initiatives. Experience leading multi-functional programs in a technology or digital product organization, preferably within highly regulated environments with products successfully deployed in production.

Demonstrable technical depth. You can read and reason about software architecture, APIs, integrations, data flows, environments, and CI/CD pipelines, and hold your own in technical design and planning discussions with senior engineers. Hands-on background in software engineering, DevOps, or a comparable technical field, sufficient to break down technical work, own cross-team technical dependencies, and pressure-test engineering estimates and trade-offs.

Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, create structure where there is not any, and drive outcomes without relying on formal authority. Practical, daily experience using AI-assisted tools such as Claude, Copilot, GPT, or similar. You should be able to describe concretely how AI has changed the way you work.

Superb written and verbal communication. You make complex technical situations clear and know when to advance versus when to solve. Experience managing matrixed teams and working globally Desired Qualifications Experience in digital health, life sciences, or other highly regulated technology environments.

Familiarity with GxP, ICH GCP, FDA 21 CFR, GDPR, or similar standards in a delivery context. Global delivery experience across geographies and time zones. Experience building or improving delivery management practices from scratch, not just operating within an established framework.

Pharmaceutical industry or clinical trial platform experience. Prior experience as a software engineer, technical lead, solutions architect, or in a comparable hands-on technical role. Experience managing delivery financials including budgets, forecasts, and resourcing models.

What We Look For We care more about what you can deliver than what you can describe. In our interview process, expect to walk us through real initiatives you have led, how you engaged with the technical detail and dependencies, how you used data and AI to drive decisions, and how you have navigated the hardest parts of multi-functional delivery.

We value leaders who move with urgency and create clarity in messy, ambiguous, technically complex situations; engage with the technical work directly and understand what is under the hood; use AI as a genuine force multiplier, not a novelty and not a crutch; say what they mean, ask the hard questions, and do not hide behind process; care deeply about the mission, because the work we ship ultimately serves patients and clinicians worldwide; and learn continuously, adapt quickly, and share what they learn with their teams.
