Overview

Job Title: Azure Technical Delivery Manager
Location: Hybrid - King of Prussia, PA (4 days onsite/1 day remote)

Job Type: Independent Contract (Contractor / Non-Employee)
Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: $72-75/hr 1099 / C2C

Contract Length: 12+ Months

The Azure Technical Delivery Manager will lead end-to-end delivery of Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical best practices. This role combines deep cloud infrastructure and data expertise with strong leadership and project management skills to drive successful migrations, integrations, and greenfield developments across the Azure ecosystem.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership:

  • Own the technical delivery of Azure projects from Requirement through deployment.
  • Ensure adherence to Azure Well-Architected Framework, governance, and security standards.
  • Ability to build consensus and drive offshore global development teams to deliver build and QA.
  • Work with product owners and managers to track requirements, UAT closure, Communication, and Training.

Solution Architecture:

  • Review cloud designs and provide guidance to the Solution team.
  • Oversee integration with third-party systems, SaaS platforms (like Salesforce), and legacy on-prem applications.
  • Own data migration strategies; possess deep-dive knowledge of ETL/ELT activities (Azure Data Factory) and environment rollouts.
  • Provide direction on solutioning, technical delivery guidance, and identifying requirement gaps.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor cloud engineers, data engineers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams.
  • Foster collaboration between product owners, business stakeholders, and technical infrastructure teams.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for business and IT leadership regarding Azure initiatives.
  • Identify gaps in the translation of business requirements into technical cloud specifications.
  • Provide status on progress and monitor milestones and task delivery across multiple workstreams.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Implement robust testing strategies and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, or industry-specific environmental regs).
  • Work with QA management to align on schedule and execution of testing adhering to organizational goals.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on Azure roadmaps, new services, and emerging cloud technologies.
  • Recommend enhancements to optimize cloud performance, cost (FinOps), and user experience.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 12+ years in IT with at least 8 years focused on the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex Azure cloud migrations and integrations in enterprise environments.
  • Minimum of three large-scale Azure implementation experiences (e.g., Data Warehouse modernization, App Service migrations, or complex Integration Hubs).

Certifications:

  • Minimum 3 Azure certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Expert, DevOps Engineer Expert, Data Engineer, Administrator, Security Engineer).
  • PMP certification is optional and good to have.
  • Scaled Agile certification is optional and good to have.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Bicep/Terraform, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.
  • Experience with Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor/Log Analytics) and security frameworks (Microsoft Entra ID).

Leadership & Communication:

  • Excellent stakeholder management and team leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in high-pressure delivery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices for Azure.
  • Exposure to hybrid-cloud environments and integrations with CRM platforms (Salesforce).
  • Mandatory: Four-year college degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
