Job description

We are seeking a detail-orientedย Technicalย Contentย Writerย to join our team and createย industry-focused sales collateralย andย customer success storiesย for our portfolio ofย valves, actuators, and control systems. In this role, you will useย Microsoft Copilotย and other tools to accelerate drafting, while ensuring the final content isย accurate, compliant, and tailored to customer needs. The ideal candidate can quickly learn complex technical solutions,ย identifyย the business outcomes they enable, and translate that knowledge into clear, engaging, easy-to-consumeย content that helps our sales teams start and advance customer conversations.ย 

Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Create industry-focused collateral: Write andย maintainย solution briefs, one-pagers, application notes, pitch-ready product overviews, and FAQs that translate technical capabilities into customer outcomes.ย 
  • Develop customer success stories: Plan, interview, and write customer stories/case studies that highlight business challenges, solution approach, measurable results, and customer quotes (withย appropriate approvals).ย 
  • Translate technical content for customer audiences: Turn specifications, engineering documentation, and SME input into clear, engaging messaging that isย accurateย and easy to scan for busy customer stakeholders.ย 
  • Content design & production (InDesign): Use Adobe InDesign to build polished, customer-ready collateral using templates and style guidelines. Ensure content is easy to scan, visually clean, and consistent in voice; partner with design/marketing as needed for brand standards.ย 
  • Quality & technical accuracy: Edit, proofread, andย validateย content with subject-matter experts to ensure correctness, clarity, and compliance with company/industry requirements.ย 
  • Work with technical visuals: Coordinate with engineering and internal stakeholders to source, interpret, and incorporate drawings, schematics, and illustrations that support the narrative and accurately represent the solution.ย 
  • Content operations & version control: Manage document versions, approvals, and publishing timelines;ย maintainย a clear source of truth and enable reuse/refresh of content as products and messaging evolve.ย 
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with product, engineering, sales, marketing, and field/service teams to gather inputs,ย align onย positioning, and deliver content that supports the sales cycle.ย 
  • Tools, visuals & AI-assisted drafting: Use Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 tools to accelerate outlines, first drafts, and rewrites. Useย Adobe InDesign (expert level)ย to lay out final collateral, including placing and managingย high-resolution images, diagrams, and supporting visuals. Apply sound judgment,ย fact-checking, and SME review to ensure high-quality final deliverables.ย 
  • Sales enablement support: Create and update supporting assets (talk tracks, objection-handling FAQs, competitive/positioning notes, and light training materials) to help sales teams use collateral confidently and consistently.ย 
  • Measure & improve: Gather feedback from sales and stakeholders, track recurring customer questions, and continuously improve content for clarity, impact, and usability.ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Technical coursework or experience in industrial domains is a plus.ย 
  • Experience:ย 
  • Minimum of 5ย yearsย of experience inย technical writing, content development, or salesย enablementย contentโ€”preferably in industrial/manufacturing environments (valves, actuators, controls, automation, instrumentation, or similar).ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to understand highly technical material and translate it intoย customer-friendlyย content (clear, engaging, and action-oriented).ย 
  • Experience gathering inputs via SME interviews and source materials, then producing polished deliverables such asย case studies, solution briefs, and application-focused collateral.ย 
  • Skills:ย 
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to tailor tone for technical and non-technical audiences.ย 
  • Ability toย identifyย and articulateย customer valueย (benefits, outcomes, ROI) from technical features and solution capabilities.ย 
  • Expertย proficiencyย withย Adobe InDesignย (required) and Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint), including use ofย Microsoft Copilotย or similar AI tools to accelerate drafting and revision whileย maintainingย human review and technical validation.ย 
  • Strong knowledge of document management systems and version control practices; able to manage reviews/approvals and keep stakeholders aligned.ย 
  • Comfort with industrial products and applications (valves/actuation, control systems, automation/instrumentation, process industries); ability to read and synthesize technical specs.ย 
  • Ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and technical illustrations; comfortable incorporating/redlining visuals with engineering support.ย 
  • Experience placing, resizing, andย optimizingย high-resolution imagesย and exporting customer-ready assets for digital and/or print distribution.ย

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with a variety of personalities, interview SMEs, pull content from multiple sources, and decipher ambiguous technical input into clear,ย accurateย messaging.ย 
  • Highly organized and self-directedโ€”able to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and drive progress across the organization.ย 
  • Detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality, customer-ready content onย deadline.ย 

Preferred Qualifications:ย 

  • Experience creating content for technical industrial industries in a B2B environment (chemical, refining, power, mining, water/wastewater, pulp & paper, etc.).ย 
  • Field experience (commissioning, maintenance, operations) or experience working for anย end userย is highly valued.ย 
  • Familiarity with sales enablement practices and/or industry standards (ISO, ANSI, IEC) and regulated documentation requirements is a plus.ย
