Are you a positive and hardworking individual that is passionate about all things Tech and enjoys working in a fast paced environment? We are looking for an A/V Specialist to assist with technical needs for all Hornets Sports & Entertainment (HSE) and Spectrum Center events. You will be responsible for setting up the home and visiting TV/Radio broadcast, production studio, satellite and fiber transmission, audio and video systems, scoreboard, and master control. You will also assist with daily activities including but not limited to equipment maintenance and repair, studio work flows, and trouble shooting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assisting with technical needs across all HSE and Spectrum Center events including Charlotte Hornets and all third-party events
  • Set up of home and visiting TV/Radio broadcast, production studio, satellite and fiber transmission, audio and video systems, scoreboard, and master control
  • Assist with daily activities including equipment maintenance and repair, studio work flows, and trouble shooting
  • Responsible for ordering of tape stock, identified equipment, and essential studio supplies
  • Responsible for inventory of all technical assets
  • Assist with the technical production of game presentation elements
  • Assist with set up and operation of PA system for various events
  • Supervise production staff in carrying out the responsibilities of their operational areas
  • Management of DTV Head end
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you will have or demonstrate the following skills and abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge from an accredited college or university in Technical Operations or a related field;
  • Strong knowledge of audio and video production
  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal, and able to present ideas clearly and concisely
  • Present self in professional manner and has the ability to interact with all levels of the organization as well as outside contacts; well in a team environment
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Strong planning and organizing, and can prioritize work activities and use time efficiently
  • Adapt to change in the work environment, handle competing demands, work well in a fast-paced environment, pay attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office computer software programs
  • Attend all home games and arena events; travel as needed; work irregular hours including evening, weekend and holidays
  • Lift and handle heavy video equipment [50 - 100 pounds]
  • Diligent, punctual, and respond to manager's direction
  • Camera skills are a plus
