MedLink GA is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across Georgia. We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team and support healthcare professionals in providing top-notch medical services to our community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to, the following)
Under the supervision of the dental provider, assists with the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Assists the provider with routine dental checkups, screening patients, reviewing a patient's oral history and teaching appropriate brushing and flossing techniques
  • Assists and/or performs basic dental care tasks and preventative oral hygiene
  • Assists as necessary with extractions, including emergency extractions and/or urgent dental care
  • Responsible for taking impressions and/or molds of teeth
  • Assists the Provider with taking impressions
  • Assists Provider with anything they need for adjustments to crowns, bridges or dentures
  • Ensuring that sterile conditions are maintained
  • Providing dental health education about tooth care and diet
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols
  • Prepare patient by welcoming, comforting, seating and draping the patient
  • Provide information to patients by answering questions and request
  • Provide 4 handed dentistry
  • Properly handle, disinfect and sterile treatment rooms and instruments, according to OSHA standards
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols
  • Provide diagnostic information by taking X-rays, taking diagnostic models (pouring and trimming)
  • Provide postoperative instructions and oral hygiene
  • Maintain patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
  • Maintain supply inventory of necessary materials to function on daily basis (i.e. Don't run out of gloves, anesthesia...)
  • Maintain dental equipment according to manufactures instructions (cleaning autoclaves, changing filters, lubricating handpieces)
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending continued education courses annually
  • Contribute to the team effort of accomplishing related tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an approved Dental Laboratory program and one year experience preferred and High School Diploma.
