Title: IT Support Specialist | Field Services | Corrections Technology

Location: On-site — Mount Pleasant, Iowa, United States

Duration: Contract | Full-Time

Job Description: Experienced IT Support Specialist / Field Services Technician required for a complex, high-security correctional environment supporting 1,500+ users across hardware, software, network, and security systems infrastructure.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Install, image, configure, and maintain PCs, servers, switches, VoIP systems, wireless infrastructure, kiosks, security cameras, and recording systems across secured correctional facilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues involving PCs, switches, wireless equipment, PDAs, and safety/security devices
  • Perform hands-on cabling, fiber optic work, wireless deployment, switch maintenance, and fiber management
  • Support and maintain door control systems, security cameras, surveillance recording systems, and safety equipment technologies
  • Serve as primary on-site IT helpdesk contact for 280+ staff and 1,200 incarcerated individuals; manage work orders from creation through root-cause resolution
  • Configure new user accounts and enforce access controls aligned to security requirements and work location classifications
  • Partner with senior IT and facility leadership to plan, test, and implement technology projects including server upgrades, application rollouts, and hardware configurations

  • Must reside within daily commuting distance of Mount Pleasant, Iowa
  • Must complete 4-week CERT training (provided)
  • Must pass background check, fingerprinting, and correctional facility clearance requirements
