Job description

This role is based out of our home office in South Portland, ME

This is a Hybrid Role

Annual Salary Range: $60,000-$90,000

We are looking for a Recruiter who's passionate about connecting with people with great opportunities. In this role you will partner with hiring managers to find, attract and hire top talent while creating a positive experience for candidates from start to finish. If you are organized, people-focused, and enjoy building relationships in a fast-pasted environment, we would love to have you join our team.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures recruitment and selection process is behaviorally based and aligned with Dead River Company's core competencies and employment brand.
  • Manages high volume recruitment of multiple openings that are primarily non-exempt roles, assists managers through the hiring process and helps maintain a pipeline approach to recruiting that addresses long-term, future organizational needs. Market management roles are also handled in this role.
  • Works with hiring managers to determine staffing needs. Additionally, in coordination with managers, supports ongoing project work primarily focused on the recruitment of Seasonal Drivers, Full-time Drivers, Driver Trainees, Service Technicians, and Service Technician Apprentices.
  • Determines applicant requirements by reviewing job descriptions and job qualifications. When necessary, work with hiring managers on updating job descriptions to reflect updated essential functions, tasks and experience needed.
  • Maximizes use of Applicant Tracking System (UKG), monitors applicant flow, and ensures an efficient and prompt response to all candidates. Trains hiring managers to utilize technology effectively.
  • Posts job opportunities as requested by hiring managers and actively increases applicant flow by leveraging diverse recruitment strategies including; online job boards, social media, and grassroots outreach.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by reviewing resumes.
  • Conducts phone screenings of applicants and conducts primarily phone interviews to assess qualifications and develops a pool of well-qualified candidates for referral to hiring manager for current and future hiring needs.
  • Coordinates and schedules interviews by arranging availability between applicants and hiring managers to ensure a smooth and timely interview process.
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring manager throughout the recruitment process to ensure clear communication, timely updates and a positive candidate experience.
  • Collaborates with hiring manager to review candidate status and make informed recommendations regarding hiring decisions.
  • Provides pay recommendations to hiring managers based on candidate experience and established wage ranges, extends job offers for both exempt and nonexempt positions.
  • Performs reference checks for candidates who have been offered a position to verify qualifications and ensure hiring standards are met.
  • Travel throughout our 5-state region (ME, NH, MA, VT and NY) as needed to attend job fairs and career events, build relationships with applicant sources and local hiring managers, and supports onboarding efforts during acquisitions.
