Position: System Administrator

Position Summary: Under general direction, the System Administrator installs, maintains, and supports the companyโ€™s IT infrastructure, including computers, peripheral devices, application software, and communications equipment. This role provides advanced technical support, works independently on complex issues, and manages multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Installs and maintains personal computers and related peripheral equipment for all information technology users within the company. This includes hardware, operating systems, and specific application software.
  • Responsible for acquisition, deployment, management, and support of all client based information technology assets. This includes desktops, laptops, cellular telephones, office telephones, paging systems, copiers, etc.
  • Responsible for acquisition, deployment, management, and support of all client based information technology software systems. This includes M365 and other business application software.
  • Willingness to learn application software specific to the business.
  • Supply technical support for all CAD/SolidWorks/PDM software, acting as a focal point for queries from multiple users and interfacing with internal IT and external vendor support.
  • Responsible for the development of standard software deployment procedures, configurations, and packages.
  • Performs helpdesk services for internal customers; provides effective solutions to customer problems in a professional and timely manner. This includes the development and maintenance of IT-related procedures and general usability instructions.
  • Assists with planning, implementation and configuration of infrastructure hardware and software, within area of responsibility, to include monitoring and maintenance of telecommunications, voicemail, and network switches.
  • Provides preventative maintenance, disaster recovery, and other network-related functions, as needed.
  • Collaborates with colleagues for the setup and connection of user to network and phone system and provides initial training; assists with employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Advises appropriate personnel of the implications of new or revised applications/databases. Performs necessary investigation, analysis, and evaluation to determine project feasibility.
  • Participates in certain aspects of user consulting, system analysis, general system design, and detail system design.
  • Learns user functions, organization, and roles in the company to the extent required.

  • Experience administering and supporting Windows-based systems, personal computers, peripheral devices, application software, and communications equipment required.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, user account management, hardware/software troubleshooting, and basic network support preferred.
  • Experience working independently on technical issues and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment required.
