Job description

General Cleaners- Memphis, TN (1127)

Position: General CleanerSchedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, 5:00 PM โ€“ 11:00 PM

Must be available to work two Saturdays per month.

Job Summary:General Cleaners are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of assigned areas. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure the facility is well-maintained and presentable at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, dust, dust mop, damp mop, and vacuum floors
  • Extract carpets; strip and wax floors
  • Remove trash and handle recycling
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms
  • Clean desks, walls, furniture, doors, entry glass, interior glass, countertops, chalkboards, whiteboards, blinds, and light fixtures
  • Polish areas within 10 feet of building entryways
  • Wash windows
  • Remove snow and ice as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the custodial supervisor or designee

Job Requirements:

  • Strong work history
  • Team-oriented with the ability to follow directions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Attention to detail and efficiency
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must pass a background check

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma preferred, but not required
  • Previous cleaning experience is a plus

Physical & Working Conditions:

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions
  • Frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • Extensive walking and standing throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, from hot to cold
  • Must be able to meet productivity and service standards
