Ladies Technical Designer


Salary: $95,000 to $115,000 annually

Location: NYC 10018


Company Overview

Our client is a dynamic New York-based clothing brand specializing in high-performance

outerwear and swimwear. We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Designer to join the

Ladies Active/Sportswear team to bridge the gap between creative concepts and highquality production.


Role Responsibilities

• Tech Pack Development: Create and maintain comprehensive technical packages,

including detailed sketches, BOMs, construction methods, and grading.

• Garment Fitting: Lead fit sessions on live models, communicating precise

adjustments to maintain design integrity, functionality, and comfort.

• Production Packaging: Oversee all packaging specifications, including

care/content labeling, UPC codes, carton markings, and hanger/fold requirements.

• Sample Management: Review prototypes and pre-production samples with

manufacturers to ensure strict adherence to fit and quality standards.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Design, Product Development, and

Production teams to meet brand aesthetics, cost parameters, and delivery

timelines.

• Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve construction and design challenges during the

development phase with innovative, functional solutions.

• Quality Control: Establish and enforce rigorous standards for garment durability

and construction.


Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related

field.

• Experience: 5–10 years in technical design for Ladies Activewear/Sportswear;

outerwear experience is highly preferred.

• Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and CAD software; deep

knowledge of pattern-making and garment construction.

• Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to

troubleshooting production hurdles.

• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills for effective vendor and

internal team management.

• Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, highgrowth environment.
