Job description

Co-Op Description

The co-op student will be given the responsibility of utilizing and learning analog/mixed-signal IC design and simulation techniques to investigate selected topics of interest. The exercise will involve working with one or more blocks touching upon one or more of the following subsystems:

  • Analog front-end and RX EQ circuits
  • Phase interpolators
  • Clock synthesis, clock distribution and clock muxing
  • Decision-feedback equalizers
  • Transmit path
  • Biasing

The co-op candidate will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the problems to be investigated. Candidates will be required document and present the circuit experiments and simulation results in internal design review meetings.

Position Requirements:

  • Canadian Citizen or permanent resident
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analog aptitude, good communication skills, and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with scripting languages is a plus
  • Currently enrolled in MS or BS program with major in EE or equivalent

L'etudiant en stage/Co-Op sera charge d'utiliser et d'apprendre les techniques de conception et de simulation de circuits integres analogiques/signal mixte pour explorer certains sujets d'interet. L'exercice impliquera le travail sur un ou plusieurs blocs touchant un ou plusieurs des sous-systemes suivants :
Circuits d'entree analogique et egaliseurs de reception (RX EQ)
Interpolateurs de phase
Synthese, distribution et multiplexage d'horloge
Egaliseurs a retroaction de decision
Chemin d'emission
Polarisation

Le candidat devra demontrer une comprehension des problemes a etudier. Il devra documenter et presenter les experiences de circuits et les resultats de simulation lors de reunions internes de revue de conception.

Exigences du Poste :
Citoyen canadien ou resident permanent
Excellentes competences en resolution de problemes, aptitude en analogique, bonnes competences en communication et capacite a travailler en equipe
Familiarite avec les langages de script est un atout
Actuellement inscrit dans un programme de maitrise ou de baccalaureat en genie electrique ou equivalent

The hourly range for Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Co-Op/Intern is from $30CAD to $45CAD. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
