The Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University in New York, NY, seeks an Assistant Professor-rank faculty member for the MSW/PhD and DSW programs.

Position Summary

ASSISTANT SOCIAL WORK PROFESSOR (Tenure Track line) in the area of SOCIAL WORK CLINICAL PRACTICE and SOCIAL WORK ETHICS - Established in 1957, the Wurzweiler School of Social Work (WSSW) offers a "methods-based" curriculum with specializations in clinical practice with individuals and families, groupwork practice, and community practice. WSSW enjoys an international reputation for academic excellence within the larger academic community of Yeshiva University.

Position Responsibilities
  • Teach advanced clinical practice and ethics courses in the MSW and DSW programs (on campus/live online & asynchronous)
  • Contribute to curricular development and revision
  • Advise and mentor students in the MSW
  • PhD and DSW programs
  • Serve on social work program, college, and university committees
  • Engage in scholarly research and publication
Experience & Educational Background
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited social work program and a DSW or a Ph.D. in Social Work
  • A strong record of excellence in MSW teaching (classroom, live online, and asynchronous), and an ability to teach advanced clinical practice and other practice-based courses on the Master’s and Doctorate level
  • Ability to teach social work ethics in practice and research
  • Record of scholarly publication and must articulate a focused research agenda with continued plans for research, publishing, and external funding
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • University teaching experience, post-MSW clinical practice, and a record of scholarly publications in the area of clinical social work practice
  • A demonstrated commitment to working with a thriving and diverse MSW/PhD /DSW student body, and faculty who value faculty governance and community partnerships
  • The ability to teach on campus
