Overview

The Cowley Group (TCG) is growing, and we’re excited to welcome an Investment Banking Analyst to our team!
At TCG, people come first. We’re an experienced, collaborative, and hardworking group that believes the best ideas come when every voice is heard. Our culture is fast-moving, supportive, and built on helping each team member grow and succeed.

Your Role and Development

As a full-time Analyst, you’ll play a key role in the execution of client engagements, working directly with senior professionals to deliver strategic and financial advisory services. You’ll contribute across all stages of the M&A process—from initial analysis and valuation to due diligence and transaction execution.
This role offers a hybrid work environment, competitive compensation, and meaningful exposure to leadership, clients, and complex deal dynamics. TCG is committed to your professional development and provides a strong foundation for advancement within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of M&A and strategic advisory engagements, including valuation, financial analysis, and industry research.
  • Build, maintain, and interpret complex financial models to assess company performance, value creation, and transaction opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed presentation materials, pitch decks, market analyses, and client deliverables that effectively communicate insights and recommendations.
  • Participate in due diligence processes and contribute to the preparation of transaction documentation.
  • Conduct research on market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscapes to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and senior leadership to drive high-quality results in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses that support strategic initiatives and firm growth.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical rigor, attention to detail, and accountability for deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree from class of 2025 or prior; excellent academic record and a demonstrated interest in finance through previous work experience and/or coursework.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, consulting, or a related field (exceptional new graduates will be considered).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel financial modeling, PowerPoint, and the broader Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Who We Are

The Cowley Group (TCG) is an M&A and strategic advisory firm guiding insurance and financial services leaders through growth, transition, and transformation. We combine institutional rigor with a boutique-level partnership to help clients achieve clarity, momentum, and long-term success.
Our work spans three core verticals:

  • Sell-Side M&A Advisory
  • Growth & Value Creation
  • Valuation & Perpetuation Planning

Through deep industry expertise and a hands-on approach, TCG helps clients thoughtfully prepare for the future.

Other

  • Base salary of $85,000 + competitive annual bonus
  • TCG is open to considering candidates outside of our core locations (Denver, CO; New York, NY) for a remote role, with expected ~1x/month travel.
