What are TCG jobs?

TCG stands for Trading Card Game. TCG jobs typically refer to roles within the trading card game industry, which can include positions such as game designers, product managers, illustrators, tournament organizers, and retail staff at game shops. These professionals work on creating, marketing, selling, and organizing events for both physical and digital trading card games, such as Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon TCG, and Yu-Gi-Oh!. The industry also involves positions in logistics, customer support, and community management, helping to grow and support the player base. TCG jobs can be found at game publishers, distributors, retail stores, and event organizations.

What are some common challenges faced by TCG (Trading Card Game) Product Managers, and how can they be overcome?

TCG Product Managers often grapple with balancing the interests of competitive and casual players while coordinating with design, marketing, and sales teams. A key challenge is ensuring new card releases are engaging but not disruptive to game balance, which requires close collaboration with playtesters and data analysts. Effective communication and adaptability are essential, as priorities may shift based on player feedback or market trends. Staying attuned to community sentiment and industry best practices can help TCG Product Managers make informed decisions and foster successful product launches.

We're looking for the most skilled and passionate talent in the games industry and beyond to help us create the best TCGs in the world.
Who We're Looking For
A leader who brings both strategic vision and hands-on operational depth, the Director of Print Operations will be responsible for creating Fanatics TCG's manufacturing pipeline, leveraging existing capabilities at Fanatics Collectibles and standing up new functions specific to the TCG business.
Responsibilities
  • Create and own Fanatics TCG's manufacturing strategy, identifying, evaluating, and onboarding the vendors who will make our cards.
  • Oversee manufacturing scheduling and capacity planning for multiple games.
  • Establish strategic partnerships and SLAs with downstream vendors, balancing quality, cost, and time.
  • Build a resilient, diversified vendor base that protects the studio against supply chain disruption and supports growth across multiple simultaneous franchises.
  • Define and own the operational workflow from print-ready files through finished goods delivery.
  • Partner with business and commercial teams on inventory planning, print run sizing, and cost modeling to support business timelines and goals.
  • Define and uphold quality standards for print production, and build QA processes spanning physical proofing, samples, and post-production milestones.
  • Build and lead a Print Operations team to support all franchises as the studio scales.

Qualifications & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in print production, manufacturing, or supply chain operations for trading card games
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a player-coach capacity, with demonstrated ability to build functions from early stages
  • Demonstrated success in building manufacturing pipelines at scale, including vetting and implementing tools, processes, and vendors
  • Proven track record of establishing and managing global manufacturing partnerships
  • Hands-on expertise in prepress, printing processes, and demand planning across multiple vendors and franchises

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with collectible products
  • Drive to innovate - printing technologies, tools, processes
