Job Announcement:The City of Webster Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Driver/ Operator. Webster is located on the south side of Houston, Texas with a population of approximately 12,000 permanent residents. While this number may seem small, our community has a daily influx of people who work and shop in our city, which brings our daily population up to 150,000.Protects life and property of citizens. Provides the safe operation of the apparatus transporting men/women and equipment to the scene of fires and other emergencies. Maintains proper water supply for fire hoses and maintains equipment assigned to them. Medical first responder.Knowledge of fire behavior and firefighting techniques. Knowledge of the geographical layout of the city. Ability to stay calm under pressure. Ability to operate fire apparatus, tools, and equipment. Ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public.Attendance is an essential function of this position. The City reserves the right to require an employee in this position to work overtime. This position provides services or performs duties for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations. These may include services or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of your job.
