Job description

We are looking for an experienced Enrolled Agent to support a busy tax practice serving an established client portfolio in Oregon. This Long-term Contract opportunity offers a lighter off-season schedule of approximately five hours per week, with hours increasing significantly during tax season. The role combines hands-on tax preparation, client guidance, and administrative support to help maintain accurate filings and strong client service throughout the year.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare and examine individual federal and state tax returns, with a primary focus on Form 1040 filings during peak season.

• Communicate with clients to obtain outstanding tax documents and resolve gaps in information needed to complete returns accurately.

• Review tax forms, calculations, and supporting records to confirm completeness, accuracy, and compliance before submission.

• Provide practical guidance to clients on tax-saving considerations, estimated tax obligations, and available payment arrangement options.

• Maintain well-organized client files and supporting documentation throughout the year to support efficient seasonal workflows.

• Build familiarity with returning clients, prior-year filings, and practice procedures to ensure a smooth and informed tax season.

• Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks and client service activities that support the overall operation of the tax practice

• Active Enrolled Agent credential with substantial experience preparing individual income tax returns.
• Demonstrated ability to complete and review Form 1040 tax filings with a high level of accuracy.
• Working knowledge of tax preparation processes, including document collection, return review, and client follow-up.
• Ability to advise clients on tax-related questions, estimated payments, and payment plan considerations.
• Experience using Lacerte Tax Software in a detail-focused tax preparation environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage client records and multiple priorities effectively.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and administrative coordination.
