2027 Tax Season Intern
If you are an accounting student looking for a spring internship in a fun, friendly environment, Varney & Associates is the firm for you.
This opportunity is designed to engage students in a real-world accounting career, improve professionalism and integrity and foster mentoring relationships between students and current CPAs in the community. Interns can expect to learn from a team of professionals while enhancing their education, career path, professional development and gain practical accounting knowledge in one of Manhattan's premier Certified Public Accounting Firms.
Tax interns will apply their education and experience assisting with preparation of federal and state tax returns. Other opportunities may include, general accounting, financial statement preparation, audit, and special projects.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in accounting
  • Must have finished a tax class prior to start of the internship
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis upon hire
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction
  • Ability to work independently but also collaborate, as a team,
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient in Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office programs

Commitment: Tax Season Internships are a full-time position scheduled for January - April 15th. This is a paid internship. Our office hours are 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday. Tax interns must be available a minimum of 40+ hours per week and work overtime as needed.
