Job description

Tax Preparer – Full-Time Position

Join Our Team!

We are seeking a dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Full-Time Tax Preparer to join our team. This position will primarily focus on preparing individual and business tax returns while also assisting with bookkeeping, payroll, client communication, and general office operations.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates integrity, professionalism, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent client service.


Position: Tax Preparer


Employment Type: Full-Time


Work Schedule

Tax Season (January – April 15):

  • Monday – Saturday
  • Regular hours are approximately 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Additional hours may be required as needed during peak tax season

Off-Season:

  • Monday – Tuesday
  • Thursday – Friday

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Associate Degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred
  • Previous tax preparation experience is preferred but not required
  • Must have a general working knowledge of computers and be able to apply those skills effectively
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers
  • Must interact with clients in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner
  • Must maintain a well-groomed, clean, and professional appearance
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Applicants must have no felony convictions or financial crimes
  • Any criminal history will be carefully reviewed as part of the hiring process
  • Must have all required tax returns filed and no unresolved tax issues that would prevent the applicant from obtaining an IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN), which is required for this position
  • Must be available to work Monday–Saturday during tax season and additional hours as needed
  • Drug testing is required
  • Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and maintain a good professional reputation


Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare individual and business tax returns accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate with clients regarding their tax returns
  • Contact clients to obtain necessary tax information and documentation
  • Answer client questions and assist clients in understanding their tax-related matters
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls
  • Respond to client emails and other communications
  • Assist with bookkeeping and payroll as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and financial information
  • Assist management and other team members with various office responsibilities
  • Provide support in other areas of the business as tasks and needs arise
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for clients
