Job description

Jasco is looking for someone to lead the execution and project management of Jascoโ€™s sustainability, recycling, and packaging initiatives. This role ensures packaging solutions align with retailer requirements, business profitability, and environmental goals.

Strategy & Leadershipย 

  • Develop and own a comprehensive packaging strategy aligned toย cost targets andย sustainability goals.ย 
  • Reportย progress against sustainability and efficiency goals.ย 

KPI Ownership & Reportingย 

  • Establish and track KPIs forย cost,ย sustainability,ย recyclability, PCWย content, and packaging reduction.ย 
  • Partner with the Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager on Vendor Guide Compliance as it relates to recyclability and traceability.
  • Participate in the Sustainability Task Force.ย 
  • Develop and championย packagingย best practices.ย 

Cross-Functional Collaborationย 

  • Partner withย Marketing,ย Product Development,ย Operations, andย Manufacturers.ย 
  • Own recycling labeling and sustainability claim strategy.ย 

Regulatory Compliance & Retail Alignmentย 

  • Ensure compliance with retailer packaging standards,ย sustainabilityย and recyclingย regulations.ย 
  • Work withย factories on all new product launchesย to ensureย accurateย packagingย structure.
  • Driveย packagingย standardization and consistency across product categories.ย 
  • Improve shipping, storage, and packaging efficiency.ย 
  • Identifyย opportunities to reduce packaging components andย optimizeย materials.ย 

Cost Optimization & Efficiencyย 

  • Own packaging cost structure and reduction initiativesย across all activeย skus.
  • Evaluate emerging materials and sustainability technologies.ย 
  • Lead plastic reduction and material substitution initiatives.ย 

Sustainability & Circularityย 

  • Drive initiatives around post-consumer recycled/wasteย (PCR/PCW) materials.ย 
  • Partner withย CMOย & COOย to prioritize initiatives and investments.ย 
  • Define long-term roadmap for material reduction, recyclability,ย sustainabilityย and product efficiency.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Packaging Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.ย 

  • Up toย 3ย years of experience in packaging, sustainability,ย recyclingย or product development.

  • Experience in consumer products or retail packaging is preferred.

  • Understanding of packaging materials, sustainability frameworks, and regulations.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
