Job description

Job Summary:

Detail-oriented CAD Drafter/Designer with experience creating accurate fabrication and erection drawings, 3D models, and detailed bills of materials for industrial and structural projects. Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong understanding of drafting principles, geometry, and engineering standards. Experienced collaborating with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to produce high-quality, error-free drawings that meet customer specifications and industry codes. Knowledge of API 650, API 620, and API 653 standards for above-ground storage tanks, with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy, safety, and efficiency in fast-paced environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate detail fabrication and erection drawings including bill of materials.
  • Coordinate with engineers, estimators, project managers, shop personnel as required to ensure the drawings convey the correct information and are error free.
  • Incorporate appropriate codes and customer requirements into drawing details.
  • Run and review output of internal automated drawing programs.
  • Provide support for the estimating and sales process as required.
  • Work as a team member toward the successful completion of projects
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with TEMA and ASME pressure vessels.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD programs, experience with Compress or PV Elite is a plus.
  • Competent in mathematics including basic geometry and trigonometry.
  • Strong knowledge of drafting and detailing principals
  • Strategic planning and thinking: Ability to plan and develop strategies to achieve goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must have at least two (2) years applicable to AutoCAD detail drafting, design work on heat Exchangers.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred but other education and experience will be considered.
  • Fabrication related experience is a plus.
  • Software experience including Excel skills and Microsoft Office Suite products.
