Overview
SUMMER 2027
Shure offers a challenging, fun, and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.
We are seeking a talented and motivated Applications Systems Development (Motive Mix) Intern to join our team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in application and audio systems development, with the goal of transitioning the successful candidate into a full-time role.
This internship will be Hybrid, based in Niles, IL.
Responsibilities
  • Audio Engine & Plugin Development
  • Develop audio engines using the JUCE framework (C++ based).
  • Integrate the JUCE-based audio engine with web-based Electron applications for controlling Shure devices.
  • Implement functionality for audio recording, playback, and editing.
  • Develop and maintain audio plugins using the JUCE framework.
  • Web Application Integration
  • Work with TypeScript, Angular, Node.js, and Electron.
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of web-based UIs and workflows that interact with the audio engine.
  • Support integration between front-end controls and back-end audio processing components.

Qualifications
  • Exposure to audio software development, DAWs, or audio plugin environments.
  • Understanding of integrating web applications with native audio components.
  • Experience with audio recording, playback, and editing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn new technologies.

Each internship has an hourly rate which varies from $23-$43 per hour based on job function (Engineering, IT, Business, etc) and year completed in school (Junior, Masters 2nd year, PHD, etc).
