About the Job:
The Manager, Talent Programming is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for delivering a best-in-class employee experience across the full employee lifecycle, while helping bring culture to life through intentional community-based programming and events. This role partners closely with leaders and employees to drive engagement, development, retention, and operational excellence.
In addition to owning core People responsibilities including talent programs and performance support, this role plays an active role in shaping meaningful moments that connect teams and reinforce company values and purpose. The ideal candidate is trusted, proactive, highly accountable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where strong judgment and discretion are required.
This role is based at HQ and requires 4-5 days per week in-office.
A day in the life, what you'll be doing:
Talent Programs + Learning & Development
  • Support talent programs including talent reviews, development planning, succession planning support, career pathing tools, and internal mobility initiatives.
  • Partner with leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to support learning and talent programs that strengthen manager capability, employee development, and internal growth.
  • Help design and deliver scalable development initiatives (e.g., onboarding enhancements, training sessions, toolkits, playbooks, and People resources).
  • Coordinate key performance and talent cycles, ensuring strong communication, leader readiness, and high-quality execution.
  • Identify capability gaps and emerging learning needs through leader input, People insights, and employee feedback, translating insights into actionable solutions.
  • Coordinate learning sessions and talent program experiences including scheduling, communications, facilitation support, and post-session evaluation.
  • Track participation and gather feedback to continuously improve program impact and employee experience.

Culture & Engagement
  • Develop and activate culture initiatives, engagement activities, internal communications support, and employee recognition in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Partner on employee listening strategies (pulse surveys, feedback loops), support insight analysis, and help translate learnings into action.
  • Support the development and rollout of People resources that drive consistency and improve the employee experience.

Community-Based Programming & Events
  • Support the planning and execution of community-based People & Culture programming that builds connection, belonging, and engagement across teams.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Culture Committee, Comms, Inclusion/Community, Talent, etc.) to execute events aligned to company values and cultural pillars.
  • Coordinate and support internal events including Town Hall Meetings, onsite community moments, volunteer activations, employee recognition celebrations, leadership visits, and key milestone events (i.e. Holiday Party).
  • Manage event logistics including vendor coordination, timelines, communications, RSVPs, onsite execution, and post-event feedback.
  • Help create scalable event playbooks to ensure consistent and high-quality execution.

Qualifications:
  • 5 - 8+ years of progressive HR/People, Talent and Culture experience (generalist, HRBP, People Ops).
  • Strong working knowledge of HR best practices, compliance, and employment law fundamentals (CA exposure strongly preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence across levels.
  • Highly organized and able to operate in ambiguity with strong judgment and discretion.
  • Self-directed, results-oriented, and collaborative
  • Experience supporting retail and corporate HQ populations preferred.
  • Comfortable partnering cross-functionally with business leaders, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, etc.
  • HRIS experience; UKG preferred.

Salary Range: $108,000 - $120,000

  • Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel may be required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. As a National Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
