While Talent Brand focuses on shaping the company's image to attract potential candidates, Talent Acquisition Specialists are directly involved in the hiring process, sourcing and selecting candidates. Both roles are essential in talent management but serve different functions within the recruitment ecosystem.

What is a Talent Brand?

A Talent Brand refers to the reputation and image a company projects as an employer, both internally to its employees and externally to potential candidates. It encompasses how people perceive the company's culture, values, work environment, and employee experience. A strong talent brand helps attract top talent, reduce hiring costs, and improve employee retention. Companies actively manage their talent brand through employer branding strategies, social media, and employee advocacy programs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Talent Brand Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Talent Brand Specialist, you need expertise in employer branding, recruitment marketing, and a background in HR or communications, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems, and analytics tools is essential for developing and measuring branding campaigns. Creativity, strong storytelling ability, and excellent interpersonal skills set standout professionals apart in this field. These skills ensure the organization attracts top talent and builds a compelling employer reputation in a competitive job market.

How does a Talent Brand professional typically collaborate with recruitment and marketing teams?

Talent Brand professionals frequently serve as a bridge between recruitment and marketing teams, aligning employer branding strategies with talent acquisition goals. They work closely with recruiters to understand hiring needs and candidate personas, then partner with marketing to craft authentic content and campaigns that highlight company culture. Regular collaboration includes planning events, managing social media channels, and measuring campaign impact to ensure the employer brand resonates with target audiences. This cross-functional teamwork is essential for attracting top talent and maintaining a strong company reputation.

Job description

Are you ready to unlock intelligence?

If you donโ€™t think you meet all of the criteria below but are still interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box - weโ€™re looking for candidates that are particularly strong in a few areas, and have some interest and capabilities in others.

Location: Remote United States

At Kong, weโ€™re the AI Connectivity Company โ€” building the backbone that connects modern software, systems, and teams in an increasingly intelligent world. To fuel that vision, we need bold talentโ€”and a bold story to match.

If you believe employer branding is more than just polished posts and catchy taglinesโ€”if you see it as a strategic lever for talent, culture, and growthโ€”then you might be exactly who weโ€™re looking for.

As Talent Brand Manager, youโ€™ll own the story we tell the world about what it means to work at Kong. Youโ€™ll shape how engineers, account executives, and boundary-pushers discover us, remember us, and choose to grow with us. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where creativity meets data, and where employer brand becomes a driver of business strategy in the AI era.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Own and execute Kongโ€™s global Talent Brand strategy, shaping how candidates experience our culture across every touchpoint

  • Partner closely with, Talent Acquisition, Marketing and the People team to bring Kongโ€™s employee story to life with consistency and credibility

  • Design and run bold, data-driven recruitment marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and qualified candidate conversion

  • Own our employer brand presence across careers site content, social channels, job boards, and review platforms โ€” ensuring a clear, compelling voice that makes our digital footprint unforgettable.

  • Use data and experimentation to continuously improve performance, leveraging analytics, UTMs, and reporting to inform decisions

  • Champion inclusive storytelling that reflects the diversity of our teams and the culture weโ€™re building. Ensure our messaging reflects the diversity we value and the inclusive culture weโ€™re building.

  • Stay ahead of employer brand trends, testing new platforms, formats, and ideas to keep Kong competitive in a crowded talent market

Weโ€™d Love to See

  • 5+ years in recruitment marketing, employer brand, or talent communications โ€” especially in high-growth or global environments

  • Proven experience running social media, digital media buys, and recruitment campaigns with measurable results

  • Strong creative sensibility and brand storytelling chops โ€” with an eye for consistency and voice

  • Comfort using data and analytics to track performance and inform strategy (GA, UTMs, KPIs)

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment

  • A global mindset and appreciation for cultural nuance across candidate markets

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience marketing to or working alongside technical teams (engineering, DevRel, etc.)

  • Background in B2B SaaS, open-source, or developer-first organizations

  • Experience with digital reputation management (e.g. Glassdoor, LinkedIn reviews)

Additional Notes

Travel as needed. We are remote-friendly, with hybrid flexibility if hired in a location with an office presence. Must be willing to complete Kongโ€™s employment process, including a background check
