Job description

Position Title: Talent Acquisition & Training Specialist
Location: TBD
Reports To: Director of Human Resources, Safety & Compliance
Primary Objective of Position:
The Talent Acquisition & Training Specialist is responsible for developing and executing recruiting strategies that attract, hire, and retain high-quality employees across Allied Cooperative. This position partners closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, coordinate the recruitment process, promote career opportunities, and strengthen Allied Cooperative's employment brand. The Talent Acquisition & Training Specialist also supports internship programs, career outreach initiatives, and recruitment marketing efforts to build a strong talent pipeline.
Responsibilities of the Position:
  • Partner with department managers to identify current and future hiring needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
  • Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, and employment offers.
  • Work with managers to ensure positive and efficient candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Organize, coordinate, and represent Allied Cooperative at career fairs, job fairs, college recruiting events, and community workforce initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning, recruitment, coordination, and development of Allied Cooperative's Agronomy Internship Program.
  • Build and maintain relationships with technical colleges, universities, agricultural programs, workforce development organizations, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department to promote employment opportunities, internships, company culture, and employer branding through social media, digital platforms, advertising, and recruitment materials.
  • Maintain applicant records and recruitment documentation in accordance with company policies and employment regulations.
  • Assist with onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for newly hired employees.
  • Monitor recruiting metrics and provide reports on recruiting activity, hiring trends, and staffing effectiveness.
  • Stay current on recruiting best practices, labor market trends, and employment laws affecting talent acquisition.
  • Assess talent and develop training plans to address skill gaps and support organization goals and growth.
  • Support Human Resources projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of applicant and employee information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Agricultural Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous recruiting, talent acquisition, human resources, training & development or related experience preferred.
  • Experience in agricultural recruiting is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with managers and team members.
  • Professional presentation and networking skills.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to recruiting events and Cooperative locations.

Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Experience with Talent Manager or similar applicant tracking software is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and utilize HRIS, recruiting, and onboarding systems.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to travel throughout Allied Cooperative's trade territory and attend occasional evening or weekend recruiting events.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.

Working Conditions:
  • Primarily office environment with frequent travel to Cooperative locations, educational institutions, career fairs, and recruiting events.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support recruiting activities.
  • Regular interaction with applicants, employees, managers, educational partners, and community organizations.
