Pursuit Attractions and Hospitality is seeking an innovative, dynamic, and accomplished Talent Acquisition leader, with proven success in leading teams, building talent pipelines, developing sourcing strategies, and achieving key talent acquisition metrics with a strong focus on continuous improvement. The Director of Talent Acquisition will oversee our talent acquisition efforts across Canada and the US. With a passion for building relationships and driving results, this leader will inspire, coach, and support operations teams to efficiently and creatively identify and attract top talent throughout all stages of the talent lifecycle. Reporting to Pursuit's Senior Director of People and Talent Acquisition, this role will be a key member of the Talent Acquisition Leadership Team.

Our goal as Pursuit's TA team is to attract, hire, and retain great team members who not only have the necessary qualifications but also drive our mission to connect guests and staff to iconic places through unforgettable, inspiring experiences.This role is based in the Calgary, Banff or Jasper office of Pursuit Support Services. Some travel to and from other locations will be required. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and reside in Calgary, Banff or Jasper.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and manage talent acquisition initiatives across Canada and the US, focusing on high-volume recruitment for front-line positions and operation leaders.

  • Collaborate with Operations teams to identify talent needs and deliver creative, efficient solutions throughout the entire talent lifecycle.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Talent Acquisition Plan that aligns with business goals, ensuring an outstanding recruitment process.

  • Drive Pursuit's attractiveness by leveraging digital and social media to engage top talent and elevate our employer brand.

  • Partner with the Senior Director of People and Talent Acquisition to develop and implement sourcing strategies, including headhunting and selection of top talent for our properties.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Inspire, coach, and guide the Talent Acquisition team on recruiting best practices to build expertise and foster career development.

  • Build a high-performing team, ensuring they have the skills, tools, and support to succeed in meeting hiring goals.

  • Provide mentorship and direction to TA team members to enhance their recruiting strategies and execution.

Recruiting & Sourcing

  • Actively recruit for both higher-level and hourly roles, managing job description creation, posting, sourcing, and interviewing as volume requires.

  • Develop, implement, and refine sourcing strategies using social channels such as Instagram and TikTok to attract front-line team members.

  • Work closely with leaders to understand hiring needs and craft targeted strategies for filling tough-to-fill positions.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local hospitality and trade schools to ensure a steady pipeline of local talent.

Data Analysis & Process Optimization

  • Analyze recruiting strategies and use KPI scorecards to measure performance, ensuring alignment with staffing goals.

  • Assess and refine recruitment tools, technology, and processes to streamline hiring and reduce time-to-hire.

  • Continuously gather and report candidate feedback and data, leading enhancements for a seamless and world-class candidate experience.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • University or College degree in Human Resources, business, or related field, or relevant work experience.

  • 7+ years of progressive Talent Acquisition experience, including 3+ years leading a recruiting function or team in a multi-site, high-volume environment.

  • Strong fluency with applicant tracking systems (enterprise ATS experience required; Workday and Paradox Recruiting experience preferred).

  • Highly data-literate, with experience using recruiting analytics, dashboards, and KPI scorecards to diagnose issues, refine strategies, and report to senior leadership.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a complex workload and a varied calendar in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across various business units and external industry partners.

  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and passionate about talent leadership with a track record of success.

  • Hands-on experience leveraging digital and social media channels (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) to attract and engage front-line talent and seasonal hires.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities professionally.

  • Willingness to travel as needed within our businesses, to hospitality schools, and to wherever top talent can be found!
