Job description

Maintenance Technician

Location: Charlottesville, VA
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Employment Type: [Temp / Temp-to-Hire]

Pay rate: $20-$23, depending on experience


Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support daily maintenance operations at a residential apartment community. This role is ideal for someone hands-on, dependable, and experienced in general apartment maintenance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
  • Prepare apartments for move-ins, including full turnovers
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs
  • Assist with appliance repairs and replacements
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the property grounds
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed
  • Communicate effectively with the property management team and residents
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies


Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of apartment maintenance experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple work orders
  • Must have own basic hand tools
  • Reliable transportation required
  • HVAC certification a plus, but not required
