Description
Position Title: TAC Officer
Reports to: Commandant
Candidate must possess troop-leading experience and a stable temperament. They should also demonstrate skills such as a working knowledge of Drill and Ceremony, strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in problem-solving/conflict resolution, the ability to make sound decisions, acceptable computer skills, an acceptable level of fitness, and above all, the ability to communicate effectively.
The TAC Officer must possess the ability to accurately assess the needs of the cadet, convey to the cadet a sense of worth, possess a positive approach to any given situation, and project a sense of urgency to the cadet's needs. Employing respect, tact, empathetic listening, tolerance, discernment, and wisdom are all trademarks of an effective TAC Officer.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Plan, control, direct, and coordinate residential life issues for cadets assigned to a specific unit or company.
  • Mentor student leaders to effect a safe, secure, and clean environment in the dormitories/barracks. Provide counseling and mentorship to all cadets.
  • Act as the Academy's point of contact for parental inquiries into residential life issues for assigned cadets.
  • Perform the role of Duty TAC when assigned, ensuring the safe, clean, and orderly operation of the Academy during non-academic hours.
  • Maintain the company-level leadership structure, including promotions, promotion recommendations, reductions, and letters of explanation.
  • Investigate incidents involving cadets and recommend corrective/disciplinary action to the Commandant.
  • Conduct frequent health and comfort inspections throughout the assigned barracks.
  • Instruct and discuss a wide variety of residential life topics with cadets.
  • Serve as an integral member of the advisory group that supports cadets in preparation for parades, drill competitions, and leadership schools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy Commandant and Commandant.
  • To support the school and its leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Prior service experience in the United States Military preferred.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment background check and screenings.
