Join rockITdata as a BI / Dashboard Developer supporting one of the nation's largest federal healthcare modernization initiatives. In this role, you'll develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that provide program leadership and Government stakeholders with real-time visibility into project performance, operational metrics, financial status, and implementation progress. Working closely with Data Architects, Data Analysts, Business Analysts, and technical teams, you'll transform complex data into meaningful business intelligence that supports informed decision-making across mission-critical healthcare technology programs.
This position is ideal for a creative, analytical professional who enjoys building intuitive dashboards, solving data visualization challenges, and helping organizations make data-driven decisions that improve healthcare services for our nation's Veterans.Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and business intelligence solutions using Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms.
  • Develop reports that provide real-time visibility into project performance, operational metrics, financial data, and implementation progress.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define reporting requirements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboard functionality.
  • Create SQL queries, data models, and reporting datasets supporting enterprise reporting initiatives.
  • Ensure dashboard accuracy by validating data sources, business rules, and reporting calculations.
  • Optimize dashboard performance and usability to improve the end-user experience.
  • Partner with the Data / Reporting Architect to implement enterprise reporting standards and best practices.
  • Develop technical documentation, user guides, and reporting specifications supporting dashboard maintenance.
  • Support executive briefings by developing visual reporting products and presentation materials.
  • Recommend continuous improvements that enhance reporting automation, data visualization, and business intelligence capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience developing business intelligence dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and visualization platforms.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, scorecards, and operational reporting solutions.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and enterprise reporting best practices.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or similar enterprise data platforms is preferred.
  • Experience supporting VA, VHA, DHA, or other Federal healthcare organizations, health IT, telehealth, or Federal program management is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 3 Public Trust clearance.
