They often work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, prepare data sources, and optimize Tableau solutions for performance and usability. In addition to technical skills in Tableau, they typically possess expertise in SQL, data modeling, and analytics.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain business intelligence solutions that translate enterprise datasets into operationally relevant insights and decision-support products.
  • Design and build dashboards, visualizations, scorecards, and analytic applications using Tableau, Power BI, Databricks SQL, Apache Spark, and related technologies.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries, data transformations, and analytic workflows to support performance, scalability, and data accessibility within modern data marketplace environments.
  • Apply medallion architecture principles to transform bronze, silver, and gold-tier datasets into curated analytic products for mission stakeholders and data operations teams.
  • Conduct data quality assessments and validation activities, including field completeness reviews, schema validation, transformation accuracy checks, and reference integrity analysis.
  • Monitor analytic product performance and data health using pipeline drift indicators, CloudWatch events, Grafana metrics, and other monitoring tools.
  • Troubleshoot dashboard, reporting, and data integration issues in coordination with Tier-2 and Tier-3 support teams; document root causes and corrective actions.
  • Engage with mission customers to gather requirements, communicate product updates, and support feature enhancements and release activities.
  • Develop reusable reporting templates, visualization standards, metric definitions, and analytic best practices to promote consistency across organizations.
  • Produce written analyses, dashboard packages, executive-level reports, and metric catalogs that improve transparency and operational awareness.
  • Support data governance, metadata management, and documentation efforts to ensure analytic products remain accurate, traceable, and sustainable.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, data scientists, and operational stakeholders to deliver integrated analytics capabilities aligned with mission objectives.

Job Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, or a related technical field. Additional experience may be substituted for education where appropriate.
  • 3–10 years of experience developing business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or data visualization solutions.
  • Experience building dashboards and reports using Tableau and/or Microsoft Power BI.
  • Proficiency with SQL and data transformation techniques for large-scale datasets.
  • Experience working with Databricks, Apache Spark, or modern cloud-based analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and medallion architecture principles.
  • Experience conducting data validation, data quality assessments, and troubleshooting data anomalies.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), or federal government analytics environments.
  • Familiarity with Advana, enterprise data lakes, or large-scale data marketplace ecosystems.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services, including CloudWatch.
  • Experience utilizing Grafana or similar monitoring and observability platforms.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience developing training materials, user guides, and analytic governance artifacts.
