Job description

Position Title: Business Intelligence Developer
Location: Hybrid, Arlington, VA (2 days a week)

Other Considerations: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Required)


POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer who thrives at the intersection of automation, data, and business insight. This role is heavily focused on building workflows, datasets, and dashboards that eliminate manual work and improve decision-making.

SharePoint is the foundation. Automation and analytics are the mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Workflow Automation (Primary Focus)

  • Design and build robust workflows using Power Automate
  • Replace manual, email-driven, or spreadsheet-heavy processes with automated solutions
  • Integrate workflows across SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and other business systems
  • Continuously improve efficiency, reliability, and transparency of operations

Data & Dashboards (Primary Focus)

  • Create and manage datasets from SharePoint and related data sources
  • Design and maintain Power BI dashboards for operational and executive audiences
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Ensure data accuracy, performance, and appropriate access controls

SharePoint Enablement (Supporting Role)

  • Maintain and enhance SharePoint Online sites, lists, and libraries that support workflows and reporting
  • Ensure SharePoint structures align with automation and data needs
  • Troubleshoot access, performance, and integration issues

Scripting & Enhancements

  • Use PowerShell to automate administration, maintenance, and deployments
  • Build scripts to support scalable, repeatable solutions

Partnership & Improvement

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation and reporting opportunities
  • Recommend improvements to processes, governance, and system design
  • Document workflows, dashboards, and technical solutions clearly

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong experience with Power Automate building end-to-end workflows
  • Strong experience with Power BI, including dataset creation and dashboard development
  • Experience modeling data from SharePoint or Microsoft 365 sources
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell for automation and administration
  • Ability to translate business needs into automated and data-driven solutions
  • Preferred that you think in systems, not just tasks
  • Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions independently desired
  • Able to balance structure and flexibility as well as when to standardize and when to customize desired
  • Good at documenting your work so others understand it is desired

WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard Business hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting on the days working remote.


PAY RANGE


The base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on geographic work location, relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, security clearance, and contract requirements. Geographic salary ranges are determined in accordance with the company's compensation practices and represent a good-faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting.
