Job description

The Rose Gaming Resort is a $480 million gaming and entertainment complex destination, located alongside I-95 in Dumfries, Virginia. Along with exciting gaming action, The Rose Gaming Resort provides a luxury hotel, eight bars and restaurants, a space for meetings and events, 50,000+ square foot gaming space and over 1,650 Historical Horse Racing machines, and over 80 acres of green space. The Rose Gaming Resort generates an estimated $35.5 million in annual tax revenues and employs more than 500 team members.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Food and Beverage Manager, the server will ensure continued excellent customer service by utilizing the Rose Standards of Service while interacting with our guests and ensure they have great dining experience. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
Compensation: $10.00 per hour plus tips
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Take food and beverage orders from guests.
• Server must be able to describe Chef's special, featured wines/spirits, promotions, and thoroughly answer menu questions with confidence.
• Deliver food orders to guests dining in a full-service restaurant.
• Carry a 27" oval tray in a traditional restaurant style containing hot and cold food items.
• Perform steps of service and maintain restaurant service standards.
• Practice Safety and Sanitation techniques.
• Obtain TIPS certificate and Guest Service Training within 90 days of employment.
• Perform proper table side wine service. Capable of describing, opening, and presenting wine.
• Perform tasks including bussing tables, seating guests, side work, and duties assigned by management.
• Provide excellent service for the guests
• Communicate basic knowledge about the casino resort.
• Follow The Rose Standards of Services and Food & Beverage standards.
• Navigate through POS system and perform transactions such as placing food and beverage orders, typing in modifiers, splitting checks, and providing accurate table numbers and guest count.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
In addition to the other duties described herein, each Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations.
• Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
• Obtain and retain required license(s).
• Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
• Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department.
• Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gaming.
• Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Must possess advanced knowledge of liquor/beer/wine product and mixology.
• Must possess knowledge of current OSHA and Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) regulations.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours.
• The ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 pounds.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
• Virginia Racing Commission License
• Valid Driver's License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
